Just read your comment, as an Arma Player that hasn't played the game to much, I don't know what to say or how the file works. I know your life is quite busy but if you still have the available time you can fix the mod. Not rushing you or anything but take your time.

Hey @Redquare. That’s odd. I remember them being in the composition folder, but my life is extremely busy right now and havnt had much time for arma or arma editor, so Im a little rusty. I’d love to give you a better answer. However, this composition was extremely easy to make. I just found some pics online of Russian advisors online, went in the editor, and tried to match their clothing and load out as closely as I could given the assets. If you are not able to figure it out, I’m sure you could do the same, and probably even do it better and more to your liking. Sorry for the non helpful response. Don’t have time to troubleshoot atm

I'm confused I'm trying to find the Soviet Advisors but to only get nothing. I know you seen people complain but when I go to my Composition and type "Advisor" nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong?

i Patrick. This mod doesnt need to appear in launcher. It simply shows up as a composition in the groups>composition folder when in the editor. All it is is characters with clothing that is used in the SOG:PF Cdlc and using Russian names.

Strangely this mod does not appear in my launcher despite being subbed to it. Has anyone else encountered this issue before?

That’s crazy! That’s probably one of those very rare cases. Didn’t really have a choice to not engage them there. That would mean their death and mission failure. Thanks for sharing. And I wish I could accuratly shoot a handgun at 100yrds with both hands. Now off-hand? That’s a pipe dream for me.

@FUBAR In his personal account of Operation Ivory Coast (The raid on the Son Tay prison compound) COL Bull Simons and his SGM engaged multiple Russian and Chinese military advisors who were being housed on the compound, recovering uniform and rank insignia from the bodies.

(On a more personal note, one of the Son Tay Raiders, Paul Poole, went on to be the NCOIC of the AMU Pistol Team, and later, at Ft. Bragg in 1981, taught me how to properly shoot the M1911 pistol, hitting paint cans at 100 meters, standing offhand.)

Это вы, вьетнамцы, врёте зря,
В шлемофоне чётко слышал я:
-Коля, жми, а я накрою!
-Ваня, бей, а я прикрою!
Русский ас Иван подбил меня

I remember reading insane stories of how the VC would literally use their own bodies to shield these Advisors when the US bombed one of their headquarters. They piled on the Russian guy to make sure he survives to continue teaching their men how to use the SA-75 Dvina's sent to them.

You can research and find pictures of advisors in Vietnam, however, there is little evidence of them going out on patrols and engaging in combat with Opposing forces. They were most importantly there to teach North Vietnamese troops how to use Russian built Anti-Air weapons and similar Russian tech. Russian ships also unloaded supplies at Northern Vietnamese ports. The US had a policy not to engage them, but I believe there was one instance where a Russian cargo ship was destroyed if I remember correctly.

There were alot of them, how do you think they got all of that Soviet tech and tactics?
Lend_of_the_Word 7 Sep, 2022 @ 1:32pm
if you even have to question the russian presence in vietnam, that just shows how effective they were, and are.

i thought that was always a myth. were there really russian advisors in vietnam?
