when this gets updated again with AI update, please add compatibility with weaponcore weapons and shields, i havea lot of weapons randomized for ai npcs factions to spawn with so i couldn't do anythin when it spawned, i hadn't thought of it at the time

@AceTakora The weapons placed around its "mouth" are the secondary ones) BTW if you're using Weapon Core, its main giant turrets will be broken and won't fire (that's why i mentioned in the description that this encounter is supposed to be used only with MES mod). This is one of the issues i'm planning to fix when the Automatons will came out

@AceTakora an encounter can stop soawning for several possible reasons which can be caused by the MES mod itself (i personally bumped into this kind of stuff a lot when making this). But for me, the boss appears well, so try to search through MES mod wiki troubleshooting page and try to test this mod encounter using a console commands.

Beat the boss, Lost literally all 17 ships but one In my survival world. I used Rdav fleet command for this encounter. The AI will chase stray powered blocks so luring it to a asteroid base Is an easy way to cheese it

Please limits its missile spawns, my game is permanently laggy now because I cant clean up all of them. during its attack it got lodged on the side of my asteroid base and just kept spawning missiles endlessly, it should only have a certain reserve.

@GuardianX yes, i'm working on it right now. In the next update the drone-bombs will have a despawn timer to automatically detonate after a certain period of time and improved AI for better tracking and not just humming around like it is now

So I'm not sure if it is just a skill issue on my part but the drones don't stop spawning during the first phase and it just lags out the game.

You can't damage it because you need to destroy its ball turrets first. This is intentional.

also @_Nazarov7576_, on a side note, you should do more encounter mods bro.
If you ever find yourself in the mood, or in need of some different ship designs, please check my workshop and pick whatever ship you want, no need to give any kind of credit. I've always wanted to make an encounter mod myself (something like, "threat score 50+ Psychopath-class Rapid Offensive Unit"), but I lack the modding skills and time needed to learn them.

the mod is NOT broken. you DO need a higher threat score (idk how much but all my ships past 50k got it just fine).

I came back to tell that this is one of the hardest encounters I've ever seen, the ship holds up against my most overpowered modded ships (check GSV Lasting Damage on my workshop for an idea), and will chase me even after I've essentially nuked it, the ONLY way to completely kill it seems to be total annihilation of the grid (and subgrids)
Also, I would recomend people to run it with NPC Weapons Expansion (the mod that gives npcs your weapons), and both shield mods.
Dont overcrowd your list with weapon mods tho or the ship will just pick random shit, Star Trek phasers seem to be the best armament it can pick DPS-wise.

This mod is awesome bro, I mean it, everyone who wants a challenge should try it!

Maybe the Treat score of your ships is lower than 2000. Treat score is a unique metric fir the MES mod, i recommend to search about it in a dedicated mod wiki.

Thanks for the response! Also, as being said, this boss isn't balanced for fighting eith OP guns mods and stuff at all, it designed to be the challenge for vanilla ships only (and i recommend to test it with exactly that, because otherwise it will just skip its second phase and so on). But I'm actually surprised that it packed a punch even for modded stuff, didn't expected this.

The second time, I used my Gangster-class ROU which has a light loadout (light being heavy for lots of people), this was the time when the Phobos managed to swarm me with drones, it was quite panicking as I had to target each at one time, but what they did mostly was try and ram me (tbh there where so many on the screen I hardly paid too much attention to what/if they were firing), in the end I blitzed to the other side of the Phobos and fired a romulan plasma weapon at its core, that crippled the ship and allowed me to deal with the (mostly) mindless drones.

also, I ran it with the mods that give npcs the same weapons as I do, it mainly had a lot of Phasers so the tactic I had to use was back away with my ship while my shields soaked the damaged and I destroyed the turrets, after that it varied, the first time, I used my Ocean-class MSV which is essentially a swiss knife ship with lots of overpowered weapons, Phobos ate it all until I dealt with the turrets, the twist was, I (unintentionally) fired my Kingswords and Mjolnirs at the same time, the kingsword at the last turret, and the missiles on a forward arc towards the "core" of the Phobos, so when the invincibility collapsed, the missiles hit, and the ship was reduced to large grid bits

The spawns worked wonders, if you dont deal with them fast, they can become overwhelming (and I think thats fitting), I did fight this two times now in two different modded ships packing two different threat mixes, and the cool thing is, if you dont nuke this ship quite fast after dealing with the "invulnerability field" lets call it, it will become harder and harder as it spawns drones, brilliantly engineered bro. Some drones even kept chasing me even after I had essentially atomized the main ship.

How was the stuff it spawns? Did it summoned well and does at least some beating? Same for the second phase. (I need it to balance this boss in the future versions. Spoiler: there will be a treasure scrap spawn after defeating it)

feedback time: I took my Ocean-class MSV against this, and I gotta say, even tho I prevailed at the end, it was indeed invincible before I destroyed the turrets!

@(e)GSV No Patience And No Time actually, this boss is literally invincible without destroying its weak points, because i coded it into the blueprint AI.
