This doesn't seem to work. Took Har Ganeth and it functions between a fortress and an alter. I can build 1 building and the fortress is locked to level 1.

Mod seems dead as no updates in over 1 year.

Just captured Naggarond as Valkia, it does not operate as a dark fortress, only normal settlement.

I'd suggest Mordheim given that it was a place Be'lakor stayed in for a long time and would be a good incentive to use the rift that opens near it

Since Fallen Gates is a minor settlement I suggest to make Uzkulak, Astragoth starting city, a dark fortress instead.

And also please consider add Karak Eight Peaks and Nagashizzar as Dark Fortresses sites, because of their lore they are perfect places for it.

Update please it isn't working properly, I tried alone and the sites can only construct tier 1 buildings.

For what one man's opinion is worth: I actually think the multi-turn wait for the conversion is good. For one thing, it feels thematic and loreful that it might take a few turns to convert a major center of order to a chaos headquarters. Also, in terms of gameplay, it prompts the player to go to some areas first (by making them quicker/easier to conquer) while still making it possible to go anywhere, ultimately.

The Tower of Ghrond.

I'm weird, I really REALLY like the Dark Convent of Ghrond, they're like my favorite faction of Dark Elves.

So Naturally I want to rule the city of Ghrond with a big ol' Dark Fortress and command them as my vassals.

The shrine of khaine doesnt allow for the widowmaker building, would it be fixable or is that beyond this mod?

@Arch-Estromancer Added Altdorf as Dark Fortress site just an fyi for others I wont be continuing to add to many sites as im working on alternatives to this mod and, I dont want to boggle my time to much with adding sites that get recommended in comments but the timing for Altdorf was perfect because mod needed update for Chaos Dwarfs DLC anyway -Rant Over lol XD

not nearly as well ive seen ai build them but they are more likely to keep the vanilla building chain from my experience. This is somthing im still looking at working on

I had the same issue with needing 5 pop for converting the altar to a fortress, but it fixed itself. I'd sacked the settlement (Mousillon) first before occupying and it said it required 5 pop to upgrade, but after repairing the buildings (and waiting a turn) it worked like it's supposed to with this mod so it does work!

For a tier 5 yes to just convert it, should not cost you 5 population surplus may be a conflict from another fortress mod if you have one, I have not personally ever had a requirement for 5 population surplus for a tier 1 conversion in the video youll even see I have skaven blight 0 population converting to a fortress so, I dont know why your having the issue your having but nonetheless I'll take a look as im working on a pretty big update for this mod anyway.

I love the idea of Mordheim for a dark fortress site, but other good locations are also Karak Eight Peaks and Nagashizar.

@Flipse I agree and am working on this but as of rn it would require the unlocker which would force it into single player only which is what my wip alternative mod will be, having new locations including mordheim till the multiplayer from Mixu's is possible

Putting it in the description but unfortunately for a lot of settlements im gonna need to make an unlocker needed to work with my mod in order to complete every capital being a dark fortress. I will release a non depended version turning a lot more into dark fortresses as a separate mod in place of the capital edition. The capital edition will require an unlocker as of right now which the only one mixu's does not have multiplayer working atm which is a big setback as I want my mods to be multiplayer compatible still looking at work around but just giving an update. This version of the mod will probably not get touched unless some balancing or bug fixing is needed, but like I said another version will be released with a lot more fortresses if people want just not necessarily every capital in the game.
