perhaps if you worked with the dwarf polearm mod to give that to those?
could they give a tiny leadership radius after 10 seconds? basically only big enough to affect the unit directly adjacent to them? then when they line up they all get a little <3 until the wall fails or moves.
Perhaps consider swapping it for expert charge defence, which would allow dawi infantry to take an otherwise devastating charge far better than most factions' infantry?
I like the stationary stat bonus idea, thought of the dwarfs when I first played Cathay.
I've definitely been thinking about alternative buffs for the shield wall. Things like mass increase are for sure on the list. When it comes to ranged units getting it, it's sort of experimental. At first, I wanted them to have it on the condition they were toggled for melee only, but there's no deactivation flag for that (that I know of) and CA doesn't let you inject code, so I couldn't do it myself. Because of that, I'll probably take it away from ranged units again since it does make them so damn powerful.
