A small bug has ruined this mod; I can’t recruit units in the campaign and can only recruit units by garrisoning towns. It's really a pity.

I have same issue as Kidd. No option for encampment stance. The only place I can recruit from Alith's horde buildings or reguilar recruitment is if I'm in a city.

I like a lot of the features in this mod, lord changes, UI, some of the units are very cool, I wish it was compatible with Nagarythe Remake though
if I could request anything additional, since both mods tackle the horde mechanic.

I feel both mods would complement each other greatly

the remake tackles faction needs such as being able to handle new climates, a new lord, officer and a couple very cool new elven soldiers

the vengence has an awesome UI reskin (hopefully compat with unique faction UI) and a decent expansion mechanic for the horde system, the additional animals and unit completes the nagarythe roster amazingly

if both mods could combine, it would revolutionize the Alith Anar experience.

updated, but I've just fixed the error flags introduced by the new patch. I checked it boots and everything seems to be there, but I haven't done a proper test so let me know if something is broken.

Hi! im assuming the horde function isn't fully compatible with other HE factions that confederate him or obtain him through mods such as 'Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords'?

For me, Alith Anar is still recognised as a horde lord, I can go into the building browser, but there are no building options. Also no growth as well to upgrade the horde.

So just confirming, this basically only works for nagarythe?

Thanks for the explanation Nameless, I'm pretty sure the mod should still work. Don't recall CA changing this faction in vanilla.

I'll do a test. If I don't come back, it likely worked :steamhappy:

I see, with CA recently releasing alot of updates it's breaking alot of old mods. I'll try to give your mod a go with a playthrough when I can, thanks for the clarification.

@leonardo the mod does contain its own version of wh2_dlc10_alith_anar.lua in order to implement the changes to the marked for death mission system. The mod requires that its version is loaded instead of the vanilla one which is what is giving the warning.

Most mods and aspects of this mod only append data onto the vanilla tables and so load both the vanilla files and the mod files but this doesn't work for script files and its got to load one or the other. The games is warning you that my mod tells the game to ignore the vanilla file and load the mod version, so if CA had made any changes to the script they wouldn't be in my version and could cause issues. Unless CA release an update that alters the marked for death mission system it shouldn't be an issue.

I haven't really played the game for a year or so, so I might not be aware of any changes, so if anyone spots something is wrong then please let me know.

WH3 mod manager now gives this warning:

"These packs overwrite CA data and should not be used when outdated:

Alith_Anar.pack overwrites:
script\campaign\wh2_dlc10_alith_anar.lua"

Would appreciate it if you could take a look to make sure it doesn't break anything.

Since you asked for feedback i have to tell you.... this is the best thing anyone has ever done for Alith Anar and i wish the mod never stops being updated so i can always do another Alith campaign with maximum difficulty with this mod later on.

@gaut616 Good spot on the income not applying, I think the update must have changed some of the effect types. I have fixed that and updated the mod.
I couldn't see any others that weren't applying correctly, but didn't check them all, so if there are others please let me know and I'll try to resolve.

I wasn't able to replicate the buildings replacing each other, that all seemed to be working correctly. I can only assume that there is a conflict with another mod you are running or possibly issues with a save following an update. Can you give me some more info on precisely the issue you are having?

However, it seems that the Horde mechanic doesn't work properly. In my campain, each new horde building is replacing the ancient instead of using an other slot. And some effects of the buildings doesn't apply, as the 1k gold income for example

I think it should all be ok, but haven't really tested other than to make sure it booted and the stats and traits were ok as these were what seemed to be broken.
If you spot anything else that has been affected by the update then let me know, i'll check back in a few days :)

Got it working. CA's update added a few extra columns into the tables (Spawned Vortex and Projectile Shot Type Display). The prior adds/ does nothing and is not needed, but the latter (PSTD) needed to read "placeholder" in order for the crashing to stop.

Both Alith and Shadow Walkers have the right stats again. I'm testing combat now to make sure nothing is screwed up...

Yeah, same thing I noticed. It appears the mod needs an update as defeault/ vanilla values are taking priority. I've been trying to figure out how to fix the mod on my end, but no luck :(

@Dozer, Shadow walkers have stalk by default, and one of the Trophie buildings grants them snipe. no Strider but i think that's just no movement penalty.

All that said, is there any chance to implement some sort of strider + snipe + stalk to unit? While I positively love this mod you made and I cannot play Nagarythe without anymore, I think it would really help the faction out, especially come crisis modes, to have a "on paper" op unit that can, at the very least, balance the scales.

Thoughts? Anyone?

TL/DR: Love the mod. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all. Any chance to an enhanced unit with snipe + stalk + strider ?

Now I know what a lot of people think/ say when they see this. "It's too OP, because snipe + stalk = free kills." And yet, even when played perfectly and going against high armored units, it was still a desperate fight (due to ammo economy) to win battles. It just felt really great to play a 100% ambush army, if one wanted to. Even then, there were times were it was great to NOT ambush an enemy, but troll them with sneaky-snipe units to weaken them enough so as to make the rest of the sneaky melee units have an actual chance at winning.

There was one unit that, while seemingly "op", did give the roster at least a chance at winning end game fights. Again, the unit was from VanguardMk1's expanded roster mod...

Wardens of Elanardris
Role: elite stealth missile infantry
Abilities and attributes: Vanguard Deployment, Strider, Snipe, Stalk, Martial Mastery, Loec's Shroud
This unit benefits from the skills and techs for Shadow-walkers.
It can be recruited from the Black Citadel of Anlec landmark in Nagarythe.

Reminds me of VanguardMk1's "Nagarythe Expanded Roster" mod for WH2. I absolutely loved the idea that CA had when they implemented Alith Anar + Nagarythe, but his roster and playstyle (be sneaky, ambush, etc.) fell flat on it's face. It seems CA wanted us to use hit and run tactics, with sneaky units. The problem was that once you ran out of ammo, and you would/ did and fast, your units were just too squishy to hold up to anything and finish high armor units off. In other words, it was absolute trash for end game.

Good stuff, only issue I have is that it seems to conflict with winds of magic overhaul. The winds of magic bar doesn't appear with this mod enabled.

Thanks for the bug report though. I can't guarantee that I'll get time to resolve this I'm afraid, I might leave any existing bugs until there's an update that breaks the mod and requires me to get into it.
