Thanks for the fast answers guys. Yeah, I'm already exporting my preset most of the time but it's a hassle when some rando wants to join and gets disconnected because they can't read the server title (I usually put a link to said modlist there).

Thank you, Steven!

@Louepyboy, the other way to go is just to Export your Preset from the Arma 3 Launcher and have your friends import it.

@Loupyboy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) , That sounds fine.Thanks for asking.

@nanner Thanks for the video! The problem would indeed be easily fixed for dedicated servers but I'm usually running Listening servers (from the game client itself), so editing the server config file isn't possible (afaik).

@ANZACSAS it is a well-known problem, though. I believe that running under 17 or so mods should fix the problem but I'm usually running a lot of small QoL scripts so the mod count can go up pretty quickly. My modpacks are always evolving so it's hard to give a definitive answer when it comes to mod count. Right now, my latest Warlords modpack is about 16 mods I think.

@Loupyboy You should watch this video starting at the 8:00 minute mark: https://youtu.be/rivdCbJXi6w?t=480 . It's how you fix the "too many mods" problem without having to repack mods. It's as easy as typing in 4 numbers in your server.cfg :steamhappy:

Ive never heard of a too many mods issue. How many mods you running?

Hiiii! I just want to know whether I could re-upload it as part of an unlisted pack to bypass server errors (the famous "too many mods" problem).

Modpack would be unlisted and the Workshop file would include credits as well.

The efx for sand are based from the config values set in the terrain configs. If your after more effect for that surface, your best off using the heavy/thicker efx version.Bis uses low values for that surface and most terrain builders use those values. You can contact the terrain builder and request an adjustment in that area.
I can modify those values in the mod but it would only be for the defualt terrains.Seperate mods would be needed for DLC and addon terrains.

@ANZACSAS Steven I believe adding the effect to sand terrain as well as dirt (which doesn’t seem to show up much on desert maps)?

This will work with all terrains. Are you talking about adding the efx to specific surfaces on terrains or just terrains in general?
ouchthathurt 28 Sep, 2022 @ 11:13am
This is very handy - thank you! Is it possible to get the effect on sand terrain/desert maps too, specifically Guelb-er-Richat?

No problem m8!

This mod runs good and the heavy version has been reworked for better performance. The heavy Efx version is for when extreme dust efx are wanted.I made this lite version for myself to use all the time.
Thanks.:)

Performance is always nice. I actually uninstalled the heavy effect because it often was unrealistic how much dust it put out.
