Really good idea but broke after I loaded turn 398. It won't show the resources, thought he button is still there.

I don't know if this is still being supported, but any chance of having the list show ALL luxury and strategic bonuses in a given map/game... even those you don't currently have? Perhaps below a divider row?

Would love to be able to open the resources list and see which resources I don't have so I can focus future efforts towards them.

Guys, please, get someone to fix your arms. It works with IGE and a lot of other mods.

download mod, go to
C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Extended Resource Display (v 4)

open

ExtendedResourceDisplay.xml

with any notepad and change offset. I changed mine to

Offset="650,6"

And it works perfectly without overlapping with IGE

Not compatible with IGE, overlaps and shows last screen from top bar, not resources.

Wonderful mod but with a small problem. The mod don't go well with VP EUI. Sometimes it is very hard to hover your mouse over the "resource" to see the list after you get many resources in the bar.
Hope you can improve it.

Hey, minor (hopefully, I don't know civ 5 modding) layout issue: when this and IGE are active, the IGE button covers up the resources menu.

Doesn't always work. Half the time it either displays the exact same as mousing over Happiness would, or it simply says 'Brief description' with nothing else. The other half of the time it works fine.

I decided to change the Extended Resourde Display value, and thank you for somewhat guiding me to the IGE. I wasn't looking it through correctly (Which I always do) .

@MunRis, I have no idea what Notepad++ would specifically change here, but you should be looking for a line that looks something along the lines of "<Stack Anchor="R,T" Offset="350,6" Padding="10" StackGrowth="Left" ID="TopPanelInfoStackLR">". The XML file for this mod is not particularly long, so it shouldn't be too hard to find even if you have to look line by line. If you can find that line, change Offset to a different value to alter the placement of the UI for this mod.

If you are using Notepad for the editing of the offset, and location of the IGE, then I have no clue where to find it, because I am using Notepad++, which organizes pretty much the coding, rather than just in tabs and new lines for the coding.
And I'm trying to look for it, and if you are going to say in 'IGE_Window', then guide me where it's exactly at.

@eturnyty, wasn't aware of the new patch, and I've kind of stopped playing Civ V in general, meaning my willpower to continue development and support of mods is kind of low. In the description, there's a link to a similar resource UI mod from magus424. It's less complex (and possibly better bug tested), so that could give you similar functionality since I'm unlikely to update anytime soon and since even the most recent updates I did put out seemed to contain strange and intermittent bugs I've not been able to find the source of. There is no guarantee that me updating for chocolate would fix existing bugs, and since the luxury "pool" used in this mod is very generalized, I'm not even sure what I'd need to do to support chocolate anyways.

Excuse me RJ815, but it needs a update. the new patch for civ adds the chocolate luxury and my game crashes everytime i try run it.

I absolutely love this mod, but just as BLÀde it just vanishes after loading(or just randomly) the game and shows the last icon i hovered over, like i hover over the faith icon. I used you mod with some other mods for my game, wich were your mod, Global Relations, PtWE(BNW). Thanks in advance ;)

@smiggy1968, -308 is likely a bug, and a weird one at that (also -0). The method for trading is quite weird in the original game's source code, and I attempted to do the best that I could with what I had available, though obviously bugs can arise. If you're ever confused, check the deal history (that's available even in an unmodded game) to double check what ongoing deals you have with other countries. My guess is that 8 -2 is accurate, but the other isn't.

Can someone help me interpret this please. I am on turn 308i and I have two entries on the resource indicator that I don't understand. One is Cotton 2/2 (-308 -0) then other is Horses 16 /16 (-308 -0, 8 -2) . Question: What does the -308 indicate? It's in the turns left before a change location but unless I'm mistaken -308 turns makes no sense. Thanks for help

@phantomwolf72, Yes, according to another commentor it's a simple fix. Edit the ExtendedResourceDisplay.xml file (it's just a simple text file so nearly any text editor should work) and search for the part that looks like <Stack Anchor="R,T" Offset="350,6" Padding="10" StackGrowth="Left" ID="TopPanelInfoStackLR">. Increase the 350 Offset value to something like 450 and that should fix the overlap. Bear in mind though that it you increase it too far (or just play long enough), it's possible that UI stuff from the left will start overlapping. But even so you can at least have a solution that lasts a decent amount of time.

Thanks for this very useful mod. One problem I have is that the IGE in game editor and this overwrite each other on the top bar. Is there a way to modify the placement on that bar?

@BLAde, hmm, unfortunate but not unexpected. I'm really not quite sure what is causing the issue, because by and large I'm using a trade tracking method similar to what Info Addict uses and IIRC that mod does not have this issue. I'll try to look into this problem again for the next update (not sure exactly when that'll be just yet, perhaps sometime this week) and see if I can figure anything out. I might just have to resort to thorough and tedious piece-by-piece commenting and reactivation to attempt to flush out where the problem is because nothing obvious stands out. You'd think a bug as severe as total mod failure would be an issue 100% of the time rather than just randomly (and IMO seemingly tied to issues arising with specific Civs being present in a particular round).

@BLAde, uploaded a new version with some bugfixes. Let me know if it helps. I still seem to be seeing that same bug pop up at times, but maybe the new version at least alleviated the issue despite probably not removing it.

@BLAde, huh, odd. Did you notice more precisely around when it disappeared? Perhaps acquiring some particular resource (or, in my theory, trading with some specific civilization) is causing trouble. Anyhow, still been working on an update, and hopefully it will be up sometime on the 5th of August. IIRC, some earlier versions of this mod didn't have the disappearing tooltip problem, and since I kept the source code of those versions around I'll see if I can eliminate or at least mitigate what's causing this issue. It's possible that some minor tweak I did between different versions causes that sporadic problem to appear.

Well I hope you find the cause because this mod is a great idea, I have actually taken the mouse over those resources many times and then thought why don't they inform the number? And then I ran across this mod.

@BLAde, Bartimaeus666, I've noticed the same myself at times, but I'm not sure exactly what's causing it. Some loaded saves work fine, others display the bug you're talking about. It seems some earlier versions of this mod didn't have this issue while some later ones did. I've been working on a bugfix update as part of a new version, so maybe that will help when it's released. But if it doesn't I'm not sure what to try to fix since it's unclear what the cause is right now.

i think there might be a bug that causes it to happen wen you load a saved game. it's done it twice to me now the menu vanishes and instead it says brif description. than weird it will show the menu of the last one you viewed. for instance view happiness and it shows happiness.

@BLAde, then my guess is it does resources in a non-standard way in comparison to the mods that work fine with this. Compariong some things that this mod and other mods use to the source code suggests we are doing things with resources in a more standardized way, hence no extra coordination being necessary to get compatibility even for some mods not specifically tested against.

@BLAde, hmm, strange. Though, really, I'm only mainly testing for compatibility with basic game resources. No guarantees for compatibility with other mods, especially since different ones can implement their new resources in an un-standarized way.

there's 1 resource mod this doesnt work for: Resource_Expansion_Packs (v 9)
later on the drop down just vanishes and won't appear ever.
