If you spawn the Knobs or use interior doors to gathering them, then it works.
used TWICE the required mats and it was built properly. it didn't USE any of the extra mats but it seems there is some kind of code error that requires more to be in inventory. good call whoever figured that out. i dont know the exact recipe but i make sure i have twice the mats before i construct, seems to work.
The only other issue I've come across is that the garage doors don't actually seal the room. It's still a cold (Or warm if it's hot out) room as if the door is open. You can still hear the crickets clearly, the wind and rain is still loud and you can still see rain falling in that room, though no puddles appear and nothing gets wet. It's covered, but not enclosed. One floor up in the same building and everything is indoors even without sealing off the staircase or the room below.
Great mod either way, thanks!
"Just kinda sad that neither parts of the mod works" could you explain it more clearly, which part is not working?
I know that this is dirty, but for we still need more investigation here what cause the door to not appear. I also can confirm that in the same run its possible to build a garage door on the same place where it has been failed to built from the first even from second attempt just by manipulating with amount of materials in your inventory.
Maybe one of them causes incompability"
If that's your theory and this is what you want and need, then shouldn't you test that theory, yourself? Isn't it the responsibility of the user to test for mod compatibility with the other mods they use? Currently, there are well over 16,000 mods for Project Zomboid. Obviously, each mod author can not be expected to test their mod to see how well it coexists with all other mods.
Maybe it's because of my other mods (300+) but I can't say for sure.
If it is possible, you could try to use this mod with more builds and more builds+.

One door stays shut, no matter what and it looks super wierd.

This mod requires you to have a "Hammer" in your inventory. Not a "Ball-peen Hammer" or any other variation. Once I equipped the correct tool, I was able to see and use the build menu.
Maybe this can be addressed in a later update.
Hopefully this helps some folks.
I had same issue as you described with another mod this summer, that feel was that steam totally stopped downloading anything.. actually I didn't find any much more clever suggestions rather than totally delete all my workshop mod files from steam and pz, after that, mods started to appear as usual.
