If it makes you feel any better, I did recently resprite one of hat kid's sprites. If I do end up coming back to this it would probably only be a visual overhaul. As of now, I am unsure as to why the game lags with this mod.

Can other of the mod's items be encountered in rooms other than the treasure rooms?

could you upload this mod with just the reskinned characters and no gameplay changes? i would love to play as hat kid instead of isaac on my normal run :)

Well, that's alright. Don't let my comment discourage you from working at improving though; I really do like the mod! (Especially the fact that Tainted Hat Kid is Mustache Girl. That's a very nice touch.)

Sorry for the lag, I am a mediocre coder at best so this will probably not be fixed anytime soon unfortunately.

I like this a lot. Only problem is, for some reason, it caused the game to lag the further you go down without restarting the game. And using any of the Active Item hats causes the game to freeze for a long time, before suddenly utilizing them after about 30 seconds to a minute. Which is a shame; I'd love to use this more often!
