I haven't played Cities Skylines in a while, but the only reason I can think of is that one or more of the tree assets are missing. As I am not current with the situation, it just can be that those assets were deleted by their creators. You should check the asset list from the Loading Screen Mod.

I have tree control 1.0 and the limit set to max but when I load up the map I don't get as many trees as shown in the screenshots. Do you know what could be causing this?

After I commented, I thought this also could be the case, but that’s not something map creators can control.
I’ll try to remain as vanilla as possible in CS2, when recreating this map. :)

yup used skyve but no incompatibily issue or anything, but later noticed the same error happening in other maps (only after I subscribed to this one's requirementes) and after deleting all assets from this map the game worked normally, my guess is that something happened with a certain asset but no idea what exactly happened or which asset.

@starkye, I'm sorry, but I couldn't replicate your issue. It's most definitely a mod causing that, so I recommend you subscribe to Skyve, the new compatibility checker.

@starkye, I'll have a look as soon as I can.

I am having a constant error message when opening the map, I have subscribed to all assets (except tree anarchy which was replaced by tree control afaik) but when entering a new game a null reference error jumps constantly which doesnt even let me open other tabs or anything (cant close it cuz reopens immediatly) any idea what is happening? was really excited to play this map :c

With the rivers, it is how it is. I tried many hours to solve that issue where the water appears and disappears in places, but I couldn't.

Sendai will be more interesting with the bigger maps of CS2 (hopefully). I don't like locations that aren't framed properly, but with a bit more space, I can add access to the sea and add the hills to the north and west of the city. I hope CS2 comes soon!
Shura 20 May, 2023 @ 1:29pm
Also something I noticed - Either it has something to do with me or the river networks don't seem to work out that well. What I mean is the water not being visible at certain points.

And it's great that you'll do more maps about the tohoku region! I'm looking forward to seeing them.
To be fair, I was mainly looking at youtube vids about aoba castle due to my interest in japanese history and interest in the tohoku region, so I really didn't look at Sendai as a flat plain and just thought about how cool it would be to build aoba castle in cities skylines.

@FellowComradeDoc have you subscribed to everything that is in the One Click Collection? If you have to check the compatibility of all mods. If all of that fails, then you'll have to tell me more.

@iRacLord, I won't stop doing maps, but I am awaiting Cities 2 at this point. It's a lot of work after all. But I will definitely do most of the Tohoku coast, though I am not sure I'll go to Sendai, since it's mostly a flat plain. I'll see when I get there, but my plan is at least from Matsushima to Hachinohe.
Shura 19 May, 2023 @ 12:26am
Thank you so much for creating a map around Miyagi! To be honest, I'd wish you don't stop making maps like these and eventually get down to making Sendai, as there are no maps about Sendai which I find very convincing and I really want to build the Sendai Castle lol.

On another note - Are there any tree and visual mods you'd recommend that would fit into the Tohoku region?
Doc 18 May, 2023 @ 9:19pm
Map is broken, cant even use at all
neptune 28 Apr, 2023 @ 1:41pm
Thanks ! I'll think about trying it out when I'll play CS again !
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 27 Apr, 2023 @ 2:25pm
The map has been updated and no longer requires NEXT 2 to work. Some other changes were made. Enjoy!
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 8 Dec, 2022 @ 12:45pm
I was considering doing Matsushima next, but as mentioned before, I can only make the time from February 2023.
YourQueenAlanah 26 Nov, 2022 @ 9:22am
PLEASE, do more Sanriku coast locations!! I BEG for kamaishi
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 13 Nov, 2022 @ 1:02pm
I can do that, but I will probably only find the time February 2023. If you can wait this long.
Haywire 6 Nov, 2022 @ 3:11pm
Will you create a version that doesn't use NExt2?
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 13 Oct, 2022 @ 6:21am
Small announcement: I will look at the network and traffic issue this weekend so if you have issues, please make them known. Although I want to remain faithful to reality, if it doesn’t work in-game, then I will “upgrade” the roads.
Should that be the case, expect a Network Extensions 2 solution this weekend.
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 12 Oct, 2022 @ 3:59pm
@Robbe__1 I noticed this too and the fix for that is the CrazyTouristFix mod. It will solve the issue. 90% of that traffic are tourists just making a U turn at the edge of the map. I have added the mod to the collection.
ROББЭ 12 Oct, 2022 @ 11:45am
Okay on a second thought, that map looks great for sure, but bro, you completely messed up the traffic on this map, i haven't even build anything and the highways are already floodet with standing cars from the exits because they want to use the roads inbetween the highways or mayor roads, which are two lane and your infrastructure is just not suited for that, please leave the map running on three speed for 5min and look at the result, you honestly have to fix a lot with your roads. it would be great if you could do that.
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 9 Oct, 2022 @ 11:11pm
@exothermic, on that point I totally agree. On top of that large cities are on large flat plains that make it easy to build on but can get boring. For NYC it would benefit from being reverted to topography that existed when it was first settled but hills, swamps and rivers on Manhattan but after the terraforming of the 1800s it's all flat...
Have fun with your new city!
exothermic 9 Oct, 2022 @ 6:18pm
@Yggdrasil this is ideal for a 1:1 recreation since the nearly the entire city fits easily inside the natural water and mountain boundaries within the 81 tile limit. And it's not like a SF or NYC recreation where you will hit the building and node and sim limit when you are 50% finished. I need to start yet another city.. dog help me
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 9 Oct, 2022 @ 11:11am
@exothermic, there is no such thing as perfection, but if you find the map to be just that, then thank you for saying that it is!
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 9 Oct, 2022 @ 10:53am
@neptune, yes use the revived version. You can find it in the One-click collection as well.
neptune 9 Oct, 2022 @ 8:44am
Hey there ! As the required mod "Unlimited Outside Connections" is deprecated, should I use the revived version instead ? :er_heart:
exothermic 8 Oct, 2022 @ 8:29pm
is this the perfect cities skylines map?
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 7 Oct, 2022 @ 8:18am
Thank you!
ROББЭ 7 Oct, 2022 @ 8:10am
Honestly, your map looks amazing, thx for the great work :spiffo:
Yggdrasil Works  [author] 4 Oct, 2022 @ 6:23pm
@AvoirRev, thank you I will consider this, but I would do some changes to your preview. Thanks for your feedback on the map, I really appreciate it.

@RonMexico, yes, unfortunately I didn't search for how fishing worked in C:S before hand, and once your topography is done, you can't really change that. Stuff that I learned for next time. :steamsad:
RonMexico 4 Oct, 2022 @ 3:38pm
As a guy who loves the fishing aspect, let me just say "Also, Kesennuma is famous for its Tuna, but due to the unique way that Cities: Skylines functions, it will now be famous for its Anchovies" I felt that, hard! LOL
zhestda 4 Oct, 2022 @ 1:02pm
I've made a my vision of ideal preview for this map .-. Use it if you want. I like to make previews :3 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/982186501729304608/1026947261743239228/2871144125_preview_Kesennuma_1949_-_Map_Overview213231.png
