I'm likely going to want to rework large portions of this mod as I update it. I will be updating more urgently once mods are patched on the main branch. (Right now they only work on patch-test beta branch to my knowledge)

But very soon I'm going to be leaving the country and getting married. So my mods will not be getting updates for a bit. I will be looking more at updating them when I return, especially if the main branch of EoS has been patched.

BTW does anyone have an issue where when a factiopn leader dies, you cant click off the pop up that says "so and so leader has died"? it locks the screen and i cant contunie the game

With the latest update on the beta version, all TacticalFaux mods (Except hireable goons) are currently working. You may have to unsubscribe and resubscribe.

Update: So, they've solved part of the issue and on a private beta branch they've given me access to. They are hopefully going to publish an updated version of the modtools next week so that I can patch my end of things to match. And if that all goes well then when things go public it should all hopefully work again.

Let it be known that the dev I've been working with has been very responsive and also seems commited to making sure they don't leave us hanging with the mods. So just try to be kind and patient with them, everyone. :)

I wrote this about the news for beta patch.

I hope you support the modders so they can update their mods and please fix the modding stuff you broke in the last patch (DLC) and may also expand mod tools. Above all, the modder https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/TacticalFaux is willing to update his mods. His mods are the top 3 mods "Demographic Tweaks", "Hirable Goons" and "Increased Crew Size".

Hi! I’m new to the game and I love what you’re doing with this mod. But right now, the mods don’t seem to work — I just bought the new DLC (Hunt for Aurora).

My question is: if I disable the new DLC, will the mods work again? Or should I wait for an update? Thanks in advance and great job!

UPDATE: I messaged an old dev I knew and I suppose the word traveled to the current devs because I recieved word that they will fix the modding stuff they broke in the next patch and may also expand mod tools going forward. So we are waiting on a patch for me to be able to update this, with potential more good news down the road.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have provided new source code for modders with the new version and they even removed the old one from where it usually is. I have a backup and may be able to still hack something together... but it may take longer, and I can't make any promises at this point that it'll work.

Thank you all for using my mod and clearly enjoying it as much as you have. I did not even know of the new DLC till I saw your comments here lol. I've been very busy preparing for marriage in real life, but I will try to poke around the old code and see if I can release an update for this and my other mods relatively soon for you all. Hey, sorry if you're busy, but re-hiring a goon that died doesn't really work for me. The game acts like they're still dead, so they can't perform actions and are ignored in combat. Is this just a problem on my end?

@Ashbay Yes that is a problem I noticed as well. It used to be diplomacy was useless and only way to win was by killing all other bosses but now its very powerful. One can choose not to use it but I was looking at making a mod that might shift how that works a bit. This was awhile ago though.

I had a number of mods I was working on a bit to varying degrees but did not fully release-- new rackets, third person camera, new AI, the diplomacy change... stuff like that... Sometimes it seems like I was the only one modding this game lol :)

What discouraged me was the devs never added all the modding support they said they would. If they had just done that I think community could have carried this game to the stars even if they never updated it again. But as it is, we have much more limited tools than was originally intended.

@linsephi If you know how to mod the game it would be great to get the gamer harder on the strategic aspect. Like for now you just have to spend all your money to win even if you only have 1 territory ^^ and the other faction don't go as fast as you :/

@Linsephi That is roughly what the goal of this mod was trying to approximate. :)

@Ashbay Yeah I'm sorry! I keep tabs on these comments and try to provide people support if they have issues, but I have not actively developed in awhile. I've just had my hands full with life-- got engaged recently, among other things. I may come back and try to patch this up though because I don't want to leave it half finished. Thank you for everyone who has supported my mods. :)

@caliboy0286 I'm not aware of anything that would cause my mod to be the reason for that. Sounds like GPU issues...

Wow bro, thanks a lot for your dedication. It's a very fun mod. I have a question, you who know more than me.

I've been researching how to add generic guard squads to the player (I'm trying to make a mod) But from your point of view do you see it possible? because I can't find anything that helps me. It doesn't seem to be something implemented in the codebase either.

I tried to use this mod and the increased crew size but they didnt work in game.. I dont think any of my mods did. I feel like im missing something. I even tried to reset the mods list and it didnt work either. Maybe some help?

Just to be clear, the save should be created after the mod is installed. If that doesn't work though, do you have any other mods running? It's possible that another mod is causing issues, if so. Giving mine priority in the load order should remedy that.
