I managed to change new variant to sword and pistol, but somehow can't change vanilla one.

Thanks for this great mod!!!

The captain's tooltip reads "Empire Captain" in the Building Browser screen like the "vanilla" one so you end having two different recruitable units in the lvl 3 barracks with the exact same name. Could you fix this and use a unique name like i.e. "Empire Captain (sword and pistol)" to diferentiate both?

Also having the same unit stats (i.e. melee and ranged weapon damage) of the vanilla one BUT adding a ranged weapon seems a bit OP/unbalanced to me.

Hey, love the mod, I have a mod that gives a new skill line to Captains for artillery support buffs, can I incorporate your mod to create a Sword & Pistol Captain with ranged buffs?

If you add a new character mod mid-campaign, the recruitment pool will initially be empty and start replenishing second turn.

I just tried this with Guns of the empire and it worked. General (with sword and pistol) should be in 4th recruitment category after general, arch lector and huntsmarshal.

funny things happened on 2.2 patch, seem the lord portrait on recruit lord screen size has been stretched out, you can take a look at my screenshot

He has a skirmish ability like other range units. You can disable skirmish behaviour by clicking off this ability.

He doesn't seem to like melee combat, he runs away until he can shoot again when an enemy is coming too close. :) It's like he forgot he has a sword as well.
