This mod is only here so the FU's BYOS is usable by the Fragments, it doesn't modify it in any ways. So if you can't find it then you must have some other mod conflict.
Personnaly I have it and I did pick the BYOS to create my own ship without issues.

I can't seem to find it in the frackin' ship list, is this an issue with the mod or am I missing something?

Frackin' Universe has it's own version of BYOS (Build Your Own Ship), so you don't install the original mod.
However, the Fragments of the Ruin aren't completely compatible with it so this mod fix that.
