I use this engine for alot of my major builds, it has NEVER failed to exceed my expectations. No other engine on the workshop is as easy to use or plug in.

Possible issues: 1. fuel may have been of wrong type 2. pump may have been facing incorrect direction 3. pump may not have been powered... dont know but after consideration screw my previous post probably user error.... but assuming the other fuel did not reach the engine... ONLY 2km for a small tank seems poor but who cares just use a custom one :D

No 2-3 large fuel tanks i do remember seeing a small one, although it was replaced. dunno... still havent used this one since... but the others work pretty good

Are you using the single fuel tank that's put on the engine..? That one is only to show you where to hook the fuel tank on your ship up. It's literally the same as any other modular engine, just dressed up to look realistic. I cannot magically change the fuel consumption of modular engines.

This engine is questionable... It guzzles fuel like nothing i have ever seen before. couldn't even make it 2km before running out of fuel. Thats on full throttle, and even then I was not even getting good rps to make up for the use of fuel. This engine is ONLY practical for "creative" uses in boats. The decor shoots the price up, and not enough fuel to do any realistic missions (unless its a beauty pagent). Shame, engine looks good and runs well enough, but, poor fuel efficency + high cost + size makes it useless for practical use.

i am having cooling issues on newest version.

Well, some engines take up more space with their detailing than others, but just count the number of cylinders and check their size. A more powerful engine will usually be wise.

Is it always the bigger the better with your engines?
Kahrstrom  [author] 25 Sep, 2023 @ 9:11am
It's impossible to make a universal guide for fitting the correct engine - it all varies on what your needs are. As a general rule of thumb, try to fit the biggest engine you can and run it at a low RPM in order to get good fuel efficiency.

How do I know which engine would be the one most fitting for my ship?

does overcharged engine produce more power? in my testing they never have i have just lost power from powering the turbines.

Can you make one of these btu mirrored?

I'm having problems with thermals when the throttle is at a sustained 90%. I have one large fluid port for intake right now--do I need to feed the engine more air?
Kahrstrom  [author] 3 Feb, 2023 @ 1:05pm
The pipes are come pre-hooked up in a configuration in which they'll work, but you'll obviously have to replace the placeholder fluid tank, exhaust and air intake with your own. Just look at where the exhaust comes out and where the fluid tank is, last one of the three is air. Look around and you should be able to find it :)

This is so cool - just can't figure out which pipes need connecting and which ones dont!! Any advice? Thanks!!
OdorousWo1f 6 Jan, 2023 @ 7:52am
oh awesome, thanks
Kahrstrom  [author] 29 Dec, 2022 @ 9:56am
For some reason one of the starters was hooked up to the engine on key button instead of the ECU starter switch. Uploading a fix now.
OdorousWo1f 18 Nov, 2022 @ 3:03pm
while checking the properties of the starters while the engine is running, it says "starter: false" but why do i still hear the starters running?
OdorousWo1f 18 Nov, 2022 @ 2:37pm
no, the engine is running. i can rev it and it'll respond. the starter ALWAYS stays running when the key is on.
Kahrstrom  [author] 17 Nov, 2022 @ 1:28pm
Sounds like you didn't hook up the pipes correctly and it's lacking air or fuel, so it's not starting at all. The starter is on whenever the engine is stalled, so if it never starts up properly it'll keep on trying.
OdorousWo1f 12 Nov, 2022 @ 6:33am
why does the starter always stay on when you start it?

I just love the design and i think a drop-in replacement from Kahrstrom & Olsen will make it easier and more convenient to retrofit over to modular engines.
Kahrstrom  [author] 3 Nov, 2022 @ 3:03pm
Great to hear you like it! I have no direct replacement engines, though this one is probably about the same in size and should give you plenty more power as well I believe. Might be something I could look into some time though!
Staalby 24 Oct, 2022 @ 3:06am
Solid design. Do you have adrop-in replacement for the vanilla large engine in terms of exact block dimensions, port placement ect?
