The only issue with this mod is the relics you don't choose get removed from the relic pool. Does anyone know of another mod to stop this? Like a mod that regenerates the relic pool, or similar?

ive wondered if this effects future relic gains by crewating many to choose from
idk, i like haveing this. a little overtuned for gameplay, but it also allows you to vinf the best synergy for your build/deck choices
allows for that fun!

Tried using this mod to reduce variance from a whole bunch of relic mods and unfortunately 3 options is far too overpowered so I have to stop using it. I wish that we could change it to any number because 2 might be balanced.

This mod is good, but it also removes any unchosen relics from the relic pool so if you have mods that lets you fight a lot of elites or stack black star, you'll quickly run out of relics to get and get only circlets.

Yes, this mod on average improves the strength of a run, but oh my god I can't play without it anymore. It's so fun when you have a ton of relic mods.

Can we get an option to change the relic choices to 2 instead of 3? Just to give it a little bit more balance (and it'd be easy to do on your end, I'd reckon)

Hey, this is great. Thanks camputer! I was wondering if you also get that thing where later in the run you get offered circlets alot because the game's out of relic choices? (I've also filtered some relics out of the pool) Is there some other mod I can use to circumvent this?

I really like the idea Newbneet had where extra options could cost something. It helps balance it out a bit and makes it more interesting imo.

One more thing, this just an idea, what if you create another mod that combines this mod with the reroll relics mod?

For example, you're offered three (or maybe the player could set how many) relics, but the linked relics other than the first topmost one will need some gold to acquire?

Just like this:

* Anchor [Free]
<> War Paint [cost 25]
<> Blood Vial [cost 50]

The cost for getting the next relic is the same as the reroll relics mod, and all relics that showed up here will disappear. AND if the relic is of rarer rarity, they will have higher value.

So maybe something like this:

* Incense Burner [Free]
<> Ink Bottle [Cost 50, twice the normal reroll cost due to Uncommon rarity]
<> Gambling Chip [Cost 150, thrice the normal reroll cost due to Rare rarity)
<> Anchor [Cost 100]


I hope I conveyed my idea clearly hahaha.

Hahaha as for me, I'm the opposite, I was looking for ways to make the game somewhat harder (at least mentally), by providing player with extra choices, and if the player picks up relics with bad synergy to their deck, the fault is on the player.

But over time, I ended up finding the strongest and most busted relics in most of my playthrough more consistently hahaha (things like Bag of Preparedness, Happy Flower, Gambling Chip).

Thanks newbneet for the bug report! I will certainly look into fixing the inconsistent RNG when saving and then continuing. And thanks for the interesting balance idea. Agreed that the current behavior is somewhat OP, if I have time I will look into adding other options that might tweak the balance a bit more. TBH, I kind of wanted this to be a little OP and fun, rather than more balanced but I can potentially look into adding a config option to tune it a little for more of a balanced feel.

Also forgot to add, there seems to be a bug. Currently, if you save & quit then continue the run, the linked relics reward will change and this could be abused to find stronger relics.

Hello, thanks for making this mod! This is really what I love to have since you usually auto-pickup relics without much thought.

Then again, I think currently it's too OP, especially when you're offered rare Relic Rewards, which makes it very easy to find something like Incense Burner. Imagine if there's a 17% chance you're offered 3 Rare Cards for Elite Combat card rewards, this is the same as that.

My suggestion is: make the other linked relics unable to exceed the rarity of the original relic reward but could be lower. For example, if you find a Rare relic, the other linked relics could be Common, Uncommon, or Rare depending on the base game odds (50%/33%/17%).

And if you find Uncommon Relic, the other linked Relics would be either Common or Uncommon. Maybe 3% chance of linked Rare if you want to be generous, the same chance as Rare Card from normal encounters.

I really hope you take this suggestion into consideration since currently this mod is too OP.

I picked up the towel and it ended up splitting the 3 bossy relic choices into two each. So I had six relics to choose from, and was able to keep three instead of one.

On a side note, would it be possible to add a configuration option for bossy relics? I really like it because it lets me explore relics from more mods, but it feels OP. It would be nice to be able to scale it down to choosing between two sometimes.

v0.9.1 update: as asked for, additional relic choices now come from the same relic rarity as the original relic! If you get a special relic reward (e.g. Red Mask) you will still also get a common and uncommon relic to choose from.

I run modded with 160 mods installed, including LOTS of content mods which add relics, and I managed to start getting Circlets by the end of act three. Yeah, this needs a way to run through the already offered/rejected relics one time.

@B1a_Z3n, My original idea behind offering all 3 rarity relics was that I was worried about potentially exhausting the common or uncommon relic pools. But I plan on revisiting this to make the mod configurable in some way (e.g., choices are from the same rarity, all 3 rarities, or random rarity).

Mod seems interesting, but curious why you chose to offer common, uncommon, rare, would it be too difficult to offer 3 relics based upon the rarity of the original relic, ie. elite drops a common relic and your offered 3 common relics
