@Gunga Din KT I mean, you can use all of it, it all works: there's a prop version of the cake and a plantable landmine version; there's also a combustible lemon grenade.

Here's answers to your 3 questions:
1. That object lets you define custom portals as world objects. There's a wiki attached to the Github page (linked in the description) that describes how to work with the advanced features of the mod including these. For normal purposes, though, you don't have to worry about these.
2. Everyone can use any portal, but generally the portals work the most reliably for the person that put them down due to the way the networking works.
3. Everyone needs the mod loaded, including the server if playing on dedicated.

Thanks sysroot. So the main feature here is the gun. I shouldn't get hung up on the cake or radio or anything like that?

Three more questions please
- what does the PORTAL object do that is black and stands upright?
- If I create a blue and orange portal can my squad mates use them or do they also need their own gun?
- Do they need the mod loaded in their side?

It's worth looking at the addon options in general; this mod is extremely customizable and you'll be able to tweak the settings so that it behaves how you want.

@Gunga Din KT I was referring to the description here on the workshop :P

As far as planting a portal 3 clicks away goes, it should be possible, but you'll want to make sure you have the portal gun's max distance setting adjusted appropriately in the addon options. I believe it caps out at 5km since that's the engine's distance limitation for raycasts.

Hey thanks for answering. You don't mean the "description.ext" file right? But basic question with what I tried so far...Using the Portal Gun I have to reach my objective in order to plant a 2nd portal. Is there a way to plant a portal 3 clicks away and then jump to there?

@BRAINLAG The mod hasn't been updated since December 2022, so I'm not sure why this would be happening. Has anything changed on your server in that time?

This is my favorite mod in arma, but a couple of weeks ago it got issues.
The whole server freezes when i create a portal. We get no error messages of any kind either ingame or from the server. Anyone else having the same eissue?

Btw love the mod. in my antistasi run i found a portal gun, while fending off a Nato attack they sent in an AH-99 blackfoot and i didnt have AA, but i did have the portal gun and a mod that lets me high jack vehicles.

Im firing around trying to get a portal to stick onto the bottom and i got one to stick, and then i immediately lept into my portal and hit Shift B and stole a flying helicopter. Best mod ever 100/1 star rating will portal a helicopter again

Well im running a decent amount of mods, i feel like the only one that should be affecting it is ace. I also have the box ticked in settings. I also tried on the default maps but alas to no avail. I'll try at some point of unmounting all my mods except the portal one and see if it fixes it for me

@bob.dangerzone Hm. I assume you have the black hole option enabled in the addon options? As long as that's the case, the black hole should work, so I can look further into it for you. Could you let me know any further details so I can try to reproduce the issue?

@Mr.Wanaskiwin You can drive tanks and all sorts of other vehicles through the portals! (I've even flown jets through them :P)

Hey! First of all excellent mod, but I was very curious about something. The "black hole when submerged in water" feature, i cant ever seem to get it to work, spawn a portal gun into a body of water or have one equipped and jump in. Its not a pressing issue but i was just curious on how or if its possible it works as i saw a separate spawnable singularity.

Amazing mod! My friends and I use it on our KP Liberation server to cut down walking time from FOBs to defensive positions every now and then if transport gets stretched thin... Or to mess with each other lmao

Thanks for the report, somehow this one slipped through, testing my end it didn't show, but popped up in the .rpt so I could at least see it, actually let us see other errors that hadn't been found with the sounds so thanks for that.
It should have no detrimental affects in game at present and we're working on a "fix" we'll let you know when we're able to get that updated.

A small addendum - when I load this mod, I get the following message right after starting ArmA:
No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgAmmo/Portal_Base/SuperSonicCrack/SCrackForest.' .
But in the game itself I have no problems (that I would notice).

Thank you - haven't checked the keybinds and options ... oh yeah ... with no ammo needed it's less frustrating to check diffrent spots for good portal.
Such as the wall of a multi-storey house, just below the roof. There, I let fall a few enemies to their deaths and even "disarmed" an armored personnel carrier.

@Cap10_Bull Thanks! As for the issues you mentioned:

- Portals sometimes not being visible on surfaces is a known issue related to model LODs, and unfortunately there's not much we can do about it

- You can shoot out of broken windows, so long as there's an actual hole in the window geometry

- A "no ammo" version is already available; simply enable the "infinite ammo" option in the addon options!

@Tora If you check the keybinds for the mod, there's a keybind for "grab". If you have the portal gun equipped, and you use that keybind while pointing it at a cube, you'll be able to pick it up and move it. You can then use the keybind again to drop it.
