Could a version that has them moved forward straight be possible? Or has that already been made/dont want to make?

it still works. as long as there are no big changes to how vortex spells work, itll keep on working.

Ive refreshed the mod and tested it, its working for me. Hopefully that fixes the issue for you, otherwise its probably another mod that is breaking it.

You can try messing with the load order, In the mod list place stationary vortex spells in the top slot.

I just found it weird that the other vortexes were working just fine but that one, even on the spell casting normal slann mage priest doesn't seem to with banishment.

Yeah, it might be on my end? But all the other spells work just fine. For example firestorm works on the modded skink priests, but not banishment. Maybe the mod alters the vortex in some way.

Im sorry but I cant replicate this, I blazed through a hexoatl campaign and Banishment stays stationary for me. Are you using a mod? Also how are your skink priests getting banishment? I dont play lizardmen much but I thought Skink Priests were beast and heavens? Ive updated the mod in case it didnt update correctly, but thats about the best I can do ATM since its not broken for me so i dont know what to fix.

Sorry for the late reply, Im testing banishment with empire light wizards and it is not moving, both normal and overcasted. Which characters are you using that banishment is moving?

Sorry about that scuffle with that one elitist... Banishment seems to not be working with this mod. It still moves.

Theres more to games then just make everything be equal. its actually better to have some things be stronger then have everything be over balanced, that way dangerous units require tactics and strategy. bombardment spells usually have higher AoE and cost less magic. Stationary Vortex have smaller AoE, more damage, but higher cost too. Some magic trees (like shadow and light) dont have bombardment spells, only vortex, so comparison is moot. If the stationary vortex are balanced to do the same damage as bombardment then theres no point in even using them, since they are same dmg for higher magic cost and lower AoE. And as I said, some people like it because its higher damage. It makes vortex spells feel more meaningful to invest in. Also its a mod, if you dont like it, dont use it, or just change it yourself. I understand your point and the motivation behind it; however, Some people simply disagree and don't want that. No more about this please.

but you need to think about those original stationary Vortex Spells , they almost have lower damage . if just make stop the move Vortex Spells and let them still have much higher damage then original stationary Vortex Spells , it is totaly unbalance.

I think the higher damage is one of the reasons people like it. hits fewer units but more damage to the units hit.

Thanks for fixing something I consider to be the second most annoying feature of combat in the game. Really, thank you so much for this. I don't need RNGesus to interfere with my finger-wiggling particle effects :)

Is it a bound spell from an item? sometimes the bound spells are considered different spells. If its from an item, list it and i can try to find it. Otherwise the spells cast from wizards are all stationary for me. If its not a specific item with a unique spell, maybe theres another mod messing with it?

in the discussions tab, theres a sub forum dedicated to mods and modding requests. I recommend asking mod requests there. It seems like theres a bunch of variations people want from this mod and i dont have the time or desire to make them all. If you want, download "Rusted Pack file manager" and just edit the values you want yourself, its very simple to do since the mod will already isolate all the variables you would want to change. Or try asking in the mod/mod request forum.

Shane_357 ya it could be made as a mode, the regular cast and over cast version of the spell are actually 2 different spells in the code, so you could make basic spell cast move and overcast not move or something. BUT, im workin on another mod in my spare time atm (making custom faction capital maps) and thats gonna take awhile so I dont see myself making any changes to this mod soon until im done with that.

Maggot that is possible but it would be a large enough change to warrant making it a seperate mod and i just dont see myself making that mod at this point.

...a thought. Could you make this a 'mode'? Theoretically, you MIGHT be able to add a triple-overcast feature that would just be this as a tactical option to be used alongside 'normal' vortexes.

I love this! Not because I want even more OP spells, but because the other lores are heavily overshadowed by Votex's like Pit of Shades and barely get used. It also makes Kislev magic better finally thank God!
