Is there a way to disable highlights over blocks in config or could it be added. love all the mods but i disable highlights and only the animated ones have them thx

@andersenman It's a framework requirement for other mods that add animations to the game, like Humanoid's Animated Reactors, or Cockpit's Re-re-re-animated. In the case of the latter, when approaching a cockpit, the doors swing open, or the canopy slides forward, etc. You only need this mod if another mod requires it, basically.

having a few issues this Animation engine to where i've had to remove all mods using it.

Error keeps spiting out this:
at AnimationEngine.LanguageV1.ScriptV1Runner.Close ()
at AnimationEngine.COre.CoreSccript.OnClose (IMyEntity ent)
at System DelegateExtensions.InvokeIfNotNull[T1] (Action '1 handler, T1 arg1)

first few lines of the log
this crashing of the server has only happened since the latest update of this mod :(

Where is the log location that is mentioned in chat for mods using this that throw errors? i get error warnings with the thruster and ore detector mods, but no clue where exactly the log is saved that supposedly has more information...

found a very interesting quote in your code "I don't really like to write documentation". You should! I spent the whole day trying to make the .vibrate function work. Because you didn't write anywhere what the syntax and arguments are (wiki doesn't count, it's not clear there. Even in your code I didn't find the solution). No matter what I do, the log says IndexOutOfRange

its a running gag, i love it:
This a scripting language for SE that allows modders to create block animations with relative ease, no C# knowledge required.
This is not a mod, its more of a framework for modders

It makes it easier to create anmitaions in SE. Alone, without "more input, models, ..." it makes nothing.

You can clear you cache as follows

1. Quit Steam. Wait till its fully quit
2. Go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850 (change C: to whatever drive your Steam is on, if it doesn't work)
3. Select all (Ctrl A) -> Delete all folders
4. Go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop
5. Delete appworkshop_244850.acf
6. Start Steam

Steam will now download a fresh copy of all your subscribed workshop items. This could take over an hour, depending on your internet speed

Downloading Animation Engine has nothing to do with the mod itself, that's steams problem. Sounds like you might have a corrupted mod or cache install, you might want to consider clearing your steam workshop download cache and mods folder

I tried to load in a world I've been using for a few months now, and that can't load in either, stopping on updating this mod.

I was just about to ask if anyone knows about a "game not loading in" bug then I seen the comments.
Basically, my game says "Downloading mods", goes to about 50%, shows "Animation engine 540 KB", and stays there forever. (in this case "forever" means longer than 25 mins)

Well reading the log, it appears that you would want to talk to the Ravcor mod developer. If you do have further issues related to Animation Engine feel free to join the discord as steam comments are atrocious

@Koruzarius as mentioned prior, "I can't even load this with nothing but a few planet mods and "Weapons Core", not even any addons for is, just camera tilt and weapons core." for those not reading, that means I only had a few planets, weapons core and animation engine. Still crashed. The pastebin was later when removing animation engine, when I added a weapons core mod that required animation engine it downloaded it and ran it, causing it to crash once again.

A quick gander at that Pastebin shows you had 58 active mods. And the error was while loading an image, though it's not terribly helpful about showing *what* image. And it also errored on the Ravcor mod

You should probably try it out with a minimal set of mods, just the suspected offending WC Mod and the animation engine.

I loaded mods after removing it and it appears that the Vulcan cannon mod added it back and when I was trying to sus out why I was crashing I decided to copy the log over since it was open.

I cannot seem to replicate this, if you could make a world file I can use that would be great. Though Animation Engine shouldn't touch or manage anything related to ore detection

i suspect the recent update might of messed up ore detectors somehow because with just this mod enabled the detectors are either not detecting ore now, or its not being broadcasted to the hud, tried it with and with out this specific mod enabled and no other mods and with out it the ore detects as should.

Pathogenex- is AE is nexus compatible not sure, should be?

As for performance I would say its about the same, there is overhead in the script itself but it also preforms things like distanced based animation speeds to improve performance. i.e. if a grid is 100meters away itll play animations at 30 fps, 1km will play at 15fps ect.

There is no server side impact to speak of as this is a client mod

So questions for you if you don't mind me asking.
What kind of performance cost would this mod have on a servers simspeed?
I am looking at using this for a couple weaponcore mods but i can't find any threads of people discussing the impact.

Say i have
500 Animated Weaponcore blocks on 50 seperate ships VS 500 AE blocks on 50 seperate ships.
What kind of sim loss would i be looking at?
The same? Minimal loss? Melted death?

it allows for SE Modders 2 make animations 4 block based objects inside of the game. :3
Think of it as animating a robot in real life or 3D animating of the model bones in a program like Unreal Engine 5. :3

Also reading the DESCRIPTION will tell U dat, it even gives a link to an example mod to better help you visualize wat it does. ^w^

can i request the addition of control block related references?
ie; artificial horizon, speed, fuel, altitude? (and if possible, atmospheric density)

and motions for scaling relative to them. essentially something for gauges

sorry if I was not clear. I mean, is it possible to have a moving collision box that has impact on other grids and ground?
For example, a door has a moving collision box. But that collision boxes have only impact to caracters, not to other grids and ground.

Its up to you what you want to do with the collision boxes, I cant speak for any or all mods that use this
