@kev675243 to upload a workshop item from RimWorld, you need to change the author inside the "About" XML and delete the whole "PublishedField" text file.

Somehow after adjusting some code, I got it to work for 1.5, not sure how to post it though

@Thundercraft As great as that mod is, I'd prefer a lighter implementation like seen in Questionable ethics but without all the other stuff that mod adds. This mod is so close I feel but I might need to learn to program to see that come to a reality lol

A mod already exists which allows completely identical clones and much more. Take a look at "Altered Carbon: Ultratech Unleashed":

Great work! I'm excited to give this mod ago after the first one got abandoned!

Quick question, is there any plan to implement mind cloning? Really, the fantasy of cloning when it comes to Rimworld (for me at least) is a group of pawns who are completely identical. As great as having the same appearance is that isn't quite enough since Rimworld lacks the personal element that make clone dynamics so interesting! Being able to clone skills and traits would be a great leap forward for this mod!

Not to mention, the amount of silly you can get away with is quite amazing as well!

The clones did not inherit appearance or traits. I just had a pretty normal baby that I raised normally.

ok, confirming that genes added by other mods do not seem to be getting copied to the clone while clones made with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2881790485 do not have this issue

Are you thinking of implementing some functionality to extract DNA samples from dead pawns (something like the "extract skull" or "extract mechlink" functionality, from ideology and biotech respectively)?

I think you made a mistake in code in Building_GrowthVat_EmbryoBirthCloneFrameworkPatch.cs, line 30 is if (thing != null && embryoStarvation > 0f) . Because in my game clones get traits and stuff properly only in dev mode when u insta gestate them. I think mod right now works correctly only when ur embryos starve.

when cloning i dont get the same xenotype has the parent, is this normal? (yes the genes are inheritable)

Clones still gain additional traits as they age in addition to their parent's traits. This means clones can have many many traits. Could you add an option to only copy genes and not copy traits?

I too couldn't place the DNA template in the growth vat. The template itself doesn't have an option and the clone pawn option on the growth vat doesn't do anything.
I had to collect DNA from another pawn then I could right click the growth vat and choose which DNA to use.

Instead of calling it 'collect genes for cloning', you should call it 'extract genes for cloning'.

It just sounds a bit more gruesome that way. Just a thought lol.
