Placing this mod closer to the end fixes that.

The game is definitely half baked, but it is a great base and I am hopeful that it will be fantastic after a few DLCs!
@Caesar, Thing is, even if you lock a map mode like Standard of Living, it will "go away" during the construction. "Show Consumption on map" works a similar way as long as you have the market tab on the left open with the good selected.
Different colors are possible (maybe even for each map mode) but I decided to stick with vanilla since this preference is very subjective.
Also, you can build electricity plants anywhere in your country, electricity works as any other good and not limited to provinces strangely enough.
Also, if that map/that kind of map could have more color contrast between the states where production is under consumption demand VS above consumption demand, that would be amazing. Maybe using different colors too?
Anyways, thanks for the great work so far :)
I tried tweaking the "map_modes.txt" to make the population map mode global (similarly how it is done for culture for example) but it seems that the required "map_painting_mode" does not exist. Since these modes cannot be edited, there is not much I can do until Paradox decides to create a global view that can be reused (but at that point they will probably just add the button as well).
Great work, thanks!
The reason why you usually see IGs conglomerate in the largest states is simply because they live there.
Having said that, I might increase the minimum alpha so smaller states are not completely white.
@Thadom69, It already works with the population tab, but if you mean adding a population map mode with a button and everything then unfortunately that is beyond my current capabilities.

Basically what we have in-game is a sequential color scheme that goes from one color to another other. You can plug in any RGB code combination but how it will actually turn out is another matter. (I even had black when I was experimenting at the start and it looked pretty wild).
@Wallenkirsch, I suppose I could make sub-mods but as changing the colors is trivial (once you know where to look) it would probably be the best if I just added a tutorial part in the description.
