hello, what would the load order be for your mod and the 2 recomended be?
Just4Kicks 21 Jan, 2023 @ 7:07am
i have the same issue as @Troubled_Zoru where everyone joined the same party
Zoru 31 Dec, 2022 @ 3:58am
So an issue my friend had with brazil is literally all factions went into the same party so he couldn't do anything governmental.

this will be difficult because far as i know the names are not dynamic, but rather defined in the files always

Would you or someone else you know be able to a make a mod that allows the player to rename parties?

I would like that.

I suppose I could make another mod that makes the criteria for an IG being "powerful" stricter. If I set this threshold at 25% that should do it.

Do you think you'd want to use such a mod? @ftsces?
Ferrous  [author] 9 Nov, 2022 @ 12:40pm
So I tested this a few more times.

The reason why at game start, america occasionally has a free trade party, among other things, is that the Industrialist IG is powerful.

It makes sense that if an IG is powerful, then they would go their own way.

And this doesn't always happen, sometimes the Industrialist IG is not as popular.

Notably, if vandy has a really good trait, he will lead the Industrial IG to breakaway from the whigs.

So when it happens you are basically playing an alt history game where vandy decided to go against Clay's designs. Because in that timeline he is not just a tycoon, but also a political operator.

Don't take everything too literally. You need to meet the game half way.
theanswerisme 9 Nov, 2022 @ 12:28pm
Still feels unrealistic, to see Cornelius Vanderbilt elected under the banner of the "Free Trade Party" in 1840.
Ferrous  [author] 9 Nov, 2022 @ 12:22pm
Free trade party is the default party for industrialist IGs, think of it as the pro-laissez-faire wing of the whig party if that makes it any better.

Consider whig party's position was protectionism (The "American System", as envisioned by Clay), I think the way the game handles this makes some sense.
theanswerisme 9 Nov, 2022 @ 12:05pm
Please consider trying to get rid of the "Free Trade Party" in the USA, led by the Industralists. They should be whigs.

Attempted to fix a bug that makes Andrew Jackson joining the anti-jacksonian Whig Party

Updated, 1.0.4 didn't touch parties =/

@Calvin J. Candle, the game actually has a penalty for this, everytime you mess with your government by kicking IGs/Parties out, you get an influx of radicals.

Now, you could argue that the amount of radicals you get is not high enough, but its there.

Thank you!

"however, if you do include everyone, a few laws you'd like to pass would probably have a higher stall rate, as those that are in your government can stall any laws they don't like. Might be worth it still to include everyone for the enactment rate, but you can play it safe too by picking less parties."

Or you know, you can cheese the broken game and kick the parties you dont need out of the goverment a day before the next tick xddd
