I do not plan to support this mod in the future. I have some ideas about genes and if I like what I get, then this mod will get something like a sequel.

If someone wants to continue supporting this mod, then I do not mind. Let this person contact me, this mod has a very strong integration with WVC - Core, and somehow some elements of the mod may need to be reworked.

And no, I won't add the violet and green versions. At least at the current stage. Working with textures takes a lot of time, and as I mentioned, I experiment with genes.

if you do decide to fully Abandoned this mod (which i hope you don't considering how very limited the mechanoids are compared to the race version) will you be willing to let someone else maintain the mod?

also will you at least add in the missing violet and green formers to this mod? you don't have to do anything fancy, you could just make the violet ones tanky and the green ones have strong regeneration and great doctoring.

oh and by the way, the HAR has had an update recently where you can now restrict xenotypes

Before abandoning, I updated the mod to the current (at that time) version of HAR. Therefore, it must work. However, HAR is pretty darn unstable and after any update to HAR, problems can arise.

When HAR has more advanced biotech support, I'll take a look. As for the mod, it needs a complete overhaul and until I find the strength, time and desire for this, it will not be continued. I'll think about the fate of the HAR version of the mod when I'm done with my hiatus, but right now I'm busy with other things anyway.

just maybe avoid adding genes that would change the body type of the race though cause that causes texture issues...

oh...i see...hey look, if it makes you feel better, the HAR is planning on being updated to support biotech better so...when the update does come out, how about like, adding the required genes onto this race so you can get what you need? also if you wanted to add a shield onto the red former, you could take a look at the coding of the anty race mod in the dreadnought race file since that mod managed to add a shield onto a race. so...can you maybe consider going back to working on this mod once HAR finishes with the support for biotech? except maybe make a separate page for this mod since that will require a biotech mod and just leave this one behind for those that don't have biotech or want the old version instead...another thing you could try doing is maybe asking for HAR to see if they can add better support for vanilla framework. i...hope i could convince you to work on the race version instead since the biotech mechanoid versions are more limited compared to the race version...

There is only one reason - the HAR framework. I don't like working with HAR, oddly enough, but HAR limits me more than a vanilla framework. HAR just doesn't let me do what I want, like biotech, but the biotech version is much easier to maintain and modify. I had to drop some features for this mod, as HAR simply does not support them. (For example, a shield for red formers)

After the release of biotech, I was not sure whether to stop supporting mods on HAR. And in order to decide on this, I took up the WVC - Genes mod. The meca race was originally made for this mod, but there were a lot of restrictions because of which I decided to go with the biotech version. Everything I wanted to do with this race in this mod, I was able to do in Genes.

I perfectly understand that not everyone likes biotech and that not everyone has a licensed copy of it, but everything I do, I do for free and I'm not ready to waste my time on something that I don't like anymore (HAR framework).

uhh...any reason as to why this was even abandoned? i prefer this version over the biotech mechanoid versions which feel more limited than this version. not to mention that not everyone has biotech DLC considering that its more expensive. it wouldn't really be fair if that other mod added in the missing green and violet mechanoid variations of this race and all the none biotech DLC owners are left out and stuck with these 3 variations. not to be rude but why did you decide to choose them to be biotech mechanoids when these as a race were clearly better? come on man, you can't just suddenly make these obtainable only with a DLC when in the past you didn't require a DLC (biotech in this case) to use these...its honestly not fair that we would have to buy the biotech DLC to use these toned down versions of the races as biotech mechanoids...

They have already been implemented in WVC - Core as ordinary mechanoids but with their own little features, but only for Biotech.

In the settings there is an option to disable the faction. In the next update, I will remove other xenotypes from the faction.
