Even with the following modlist this mod doesn't seem to be working.

Royalty
Ideology
Biotech

So when I went to set some factions to hostile, for some reason they went back to neutral, even though the values are clearly in the negative. Is there a way to fix this?

@TheRealLemon: Are you planning on updating this?

I sort of can't (= don't want to) play without this mod, so I fixed it myself. If you're not gonna update (or if it's gonna take some time) let me know and I'll fork and upload for people who feel the same way I do.

-100 to 100, its the range you want it to be randomized in

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't seem to figure this out. I tick Randomize Faction Goodwill, but then it makes me put Min/Max values in? If I want to be truly Random, so I set the Min to -100 and the Max to 100? or Do I leave it as 0,0 respectively?

randomized faction goodwill option has checkmark but the right side only has the header saying "Faction Goodwill min/max" without anything below it

can no longer configure values for individual factions like in the original mod the list of factions don't seem to propagate in the options when trying to start a game or mod options

@TheRealLemon The problem is the mod creates new types of factions which is not recognized by random goodwill so it's indeed unaffected

Faction Control
Random Factions does not interfere with Faction Control, nor is it affected by it.

@Mitokandria ooh interesting I've looked into it, natural goodwill is effected by GoodWillSituationDefs and their classes, I will see if I can randomize those outputs though some of those defs are locked behind DLCs it looks like.

Bit of miscommunication? "Natural Goodwill" is the default opinion that a faction will slowly return back to if not interacted with. Generally it's -100 (pirates), -60 (ie. Fierce Tribe), or 0 (ie. Gentle Tribe). It's a very rigid system, but it would be really nice having a randomized natural goodwill for each faction.

It might be tied to how factions are categorized though instead of individual factions so I'm not sure it's changeable for individual factions. Mods like Hospitality only change the opinion and not the natural goodwill.

@Mitokandria and @DisKorrupt I'm prettysure there are other mods around that have events or actions that effect the goodwill in a natural way, for example taking care of guests in Hospitality or having a war in Rim War. This mod is only for randomizing the starting values and that will not change.

Hm. This doesn't work for me. No errors in the log, but all factions have their default goodwill at the generation of a new world.

Any other mods you know it's not gonna work with?

Idea here: would it be possible to have random natural goodwill [that may adjust based on faction's vanilla natural preference]
