Jesus christ this is really terrifyingly well made, got me the spooks!

Wow, this is amazing! The eery silence, repetitiveness, ghosts, weird entities running around and opening doors, and random explosions happening in the distance... It all adds up to an incredible horror experience! So far I made it to the 15th level after 3 attempts. I'll definitely have to finish it on the weekend!

On floor three a beast I couldn't even see came at me and blew through several walls. Genuinely scared the living hell out of me. Great job!

Is this intended to be played single player? Im trying to play with some friends online but they can choose characters and can see things the host cannot (host automatically gets the unlucky janitor character)

I never thought I would be genuinely unsettled by a SOR campaign, but you've proven me wrong. I have PTSD from the NPC door opening sound now.

I'll think about it. Also, another question, if you don't mind, are you planning on making content for Streets Of Rogue 2, whenever it releases?
Cyan Light  [author] 7 Dec, 2022 @ 7:04pm
Yeah, I was hesitant to even get into making stuff for modded SoR for similar reasons and I know other people feel this way so still have plans to do some more purely vanilla content in the future. Still, the mods (especially CCU) add so much functionality to the game that I really can't ignore it either, so a lot of what I'm working will unfortunately be similarly exclusive.

If you change your mind the mods have been very easy and low-risk to use so far, it's literally just dropping some extra files into your existing folders and if you ever want to remove a thing you just take the file back out. Haven't had any issues with corrupting the original game files or anything like that, I've even been playtesting a lot of pre-release versions of mods full of game-crashing bugs and even those haven't caused problems so all the "official" versions of the mods should be particularly safe.

Damn, I dislike downloading things off the internet, so that really sucks. Well, it's alright, in the end, since you have lots of other content on the workshop I can play.

Yes, unfortunately there's no way to save the mod functions into the game files in a way that doesn't require every player to have their own version of the mod to make sense of it on their end. It won't crash or anything (new traits and such are just ignored as junk data or something), but it'll be a pure walking simulator in a very repetitive environment.

So... I haven't played it yet, but to actually experience the horror, I have to have CCU?
