This does not mine gemstone deposits from Jewelry mods. It's because they donẗ have ResourcesRaw in their thingCategories. They don't want to change and say it's your issue. Can you fix?

After I put the "new" mod approximately where the "old" one was in my load order, it didn't break my save, for which I am grateful.

when i loaded the game, i was surprised that my previous save didnt have the autodrills and here i came to inspect the reason.
now the question is, will it break my save after adding. wish me luck

OK I just uploaded the latest version, I renamed the mod and dis some code changes and such. please let me know.

There are some other updates I am thinking exploring like adding the "walkable" smart turret.

If you mean can they spawn on top of other deposits? I don't believe they can.

Hello Guys, I am in the middle of testing an update on the mod.

1.- I am adding ALL parameters to a settings window to be changed on demand.
2.- I am adding a toggle for infestation creation for the drills as requested by @Asteyr.
3.- I am adding the automatic overlay of resources even when not using the scanner, it would be a nice Quality of life, maybe I will have it behind a "research"


@FlareFluffsune I am investigating the issue, this is a modded "resource" that is also part of deep resource category. so I would need to test this use case. do you know if the resources can overlap?

For some reason the drills seem to be targeting VE Helixien Gas pockets and mining them out too. Any way to blacklist that resource? lol Only issue with this is Helixien spawns infinite pockets and doesn't spawn a resource item.

Haven't tested it but might also mine up Deepchem from VE too.

In case you need it, the resource def's are: VCHE_Deepchem and VHGE_Helixien

Thanks for updating! (mod worked fine for me in 1.5 too before)

Since you're asking, I'd love an option to disable / tweak the infestation chances on all the drills, it just gets old after a while. Actually I would love to have the drills values exposed to settings, not just the infestation likelihood. Work speed, yield.

Other potential add-ons could be automatic resource overlay even when the scanner is out of commission or switched off (a QOL for me personally but not a biggie), a highly efficient biotech-expansion version of the manual drill for drilling mechanoids, uh, genes that make slaves, I mean ... highly-turret-motivated workforce, drill like their lifes depend on it, a mobile smart drill, that unplugs from the ground and uses little spider legs to crawl to the next deposit spot and starts drilling again when the old spot is empty.... you know, stuff.

Ok, I updated the "code" using the new rimworld unity version + code, it should be working fine (this is a simple mod code) eitherway if you find an issue let me know. sorry I didnt reply before.

Nothing changed in 1.5, so I guess you can force the update to 1.5. By the way, the recompiled version works fine for me. I will release it after a couple of weeks if the author doesn't come back

when building the smartdrill you cant see what resorces are precent when hovering over the green spots

@SalmonToastie Normal mining will be limited by the amount of mining pawns you have. Autodrill is limited only by initial resources and power. If you get to a point where you have 3-5 autodrills going, you have endless resources, and can build even more drills, for more resources, those you can sell... it spirals out to being too OP.

@G-Fiti , how much ore it removes from the deposit each cycle. The percentage is relative to the vanilla drill with a level 10 miner (at least, that was the case when this was originally balanced. I don't know if the values have changed since then).

For example the Giant AutoDrill has a consumption rate of 300% which mean it depletes the ore deposit by 3x what the manual drill would. However, the output is 200%, which means it only produces 2x the amount of ore the manual drill would. So it's fast, but inefficient. You'll get less total ore than you would with any other drill from the same deposit.
