Thanks!

Great idea! I agree with others that it is a bit over-powered. If you like the mod as it is, perhaps you can provide some simple directions for how we can adjust its benefit in the game files ourselves?
Renan 6 Aug, 2014 @ 7:12pm
Great mod! but i still think its some overpowered by giving a great scientist and a free tech, by this, time you probably had enough science beaker to your great scientist give you another tech, so actually you can win 2 techs for free, this is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much ;)

I suggest you to change de free tech OR the free scientist to a +10~20% science beakers boost
vodspod 3 Aug, 2014 @ 6:43pm
late game when you get this the tech left are very important.
vodspod 3 Aug, 2014 @ 6:43pm
hmmm it seems a bit overpowered. a free tech, and a great scientist. This would pretty much be 2 free techs

@rikfontana Do you have the Brave New World Addon if not you can ask the creator to make the addon for regular Civ. 5. Hope this helps :)

Hello, I am new at Mods. I can not figure out HOW to Download the Voyager Wonder. I clicked in Steam to Subscribe, and it says I am. But then what do I do? Cannot find a DOWNLOAD link. Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the great idea and MOD.
MadAdam81 25 Jul, 2014 @ 10:00pm
Brilliant idea, very professional, downloadng it now. It really seems like its a proper in-game wonder, not just a mod.

Fantastic.

@Survivalist64 : Thanks so much! Also, nice mod! I'll try this immediately!

Updated now, +10 science is removed.

@Sapphire Bullets: your idea for science payoff every 2^n turns is brilliant, I will implement it if I can figure out the .lua required to program that sort of thing.

@Cralloyas: Within Modbuddy (which I assume your using) their is a "publish to steam workshop" under the tools, it will tell you what to do from there.

The satelilte tec is to late game for a free technolagy and being late game 10 sciance is overpowerdish and a bit usless. Just saying.
bazingo! 25 Jul, 2014 @ 9:56am
10+ Science is too stronk, pls nerf.
In all seriousness, that is too much of a gamebreaker.
Big Buhngo 25 Jul, 2014 @ 6:20am
Agree below, but how do I submit a mod? I have 2 that I really want sumbitted.
Linarion 25 Jul, 2014 @ 4:54am
I think it´s a little bit over powered. One free Technology (or Scientist) would be enough. But just my opinion ;)
Washu 25 Jul, 2014 @ 3:32am
Honestly, well done. Something like this should be in the game as standard considering its long living legacy.

What happens if it is slung by the gravity at the cusp of the event horizon of a black hole back to Earth into the heart of your civ? Would it crash at near-light-speed and cause a nation-wide catastrophe generated by the sheer force of it crashing into the ground, the debris it would displace into space and back into Earth; causing minor-ish destruction to every other civ, thus causing then all to because Hostile to you? You could have this devastation create loss of all culture generation, science generation, ability to contact other civs for diplomacy for 50 years, and be automatically sent back 5 Eras? I think that would be totally tubular.

@Sapphire Bullets
the +25% science woulb be a great idea but in the rounds you get more science the round timer for the next science would be less that the real duration
Veklim 24 Jul, 2014 @ 4:34am
@SimulatedSim; true in principle, except the chances of them getting vaguely close to any of those things in the next 10,000 years is rather highly unlikely considering where they currently are and how fast they're going.
@The Author; a free tech AND a great scientist is a nice boost, the +10 science (I assume within the city it is built) is a BIG chunk, especially considering how many percentile boosts you can get in, and the free research lab compounds this just a little. It's good, I don't think it's terribly OP, but I do think it's a wonder which gives a distinct late-game advantage in terms of tech progression.

I'd not worry about the culture thing though, since there are no 'Alien Civs' in the game, we should really wait until Beyond Earth before looking at the Voyagers as a cultural object methinks..!
Gaia Enceladus 24 Jul, 2014 @ 4:32am
sweet ;)
Lord Apple 24 Jul, 2014 @ 4:32am
I'm betting that one day we'll find the voyagers in our faster-than-light spacships and wonder what the hell is written on those records...
Kouga 24 Jul, 2014 @ 3:40am
I don't know....
Caledonian Evocatus 24 Jul, 2014 @ 1:47am
some wonder you cant even see it to show it off XD :P nice mod tho :D id say a tiny boost to culture per turn because it is travelling deeper into space and a science per turn bonus or a big buff like + 50 for example :D
Sapphire Bullets 24 Jul, 2014 @ 12:42am
Hmm... I'd suggest a small culture bonus and, if possible, a moderate civ-wide boost to science for a single turn which reoccurs every few turns as it heads further out into space.

So:
---
+1 culture
+25% science in all cities each time it sends back data (Every 2^n turns, so 1,2,4,8,16... turns later).
+2 great scientist points.
gameboyjrw 24 Jul, 2014 @ 12:19am
I'm kinda worry, what if some aliens pick one of voyagers and they not exacty the friendly sort.
SimulatedSim 23 Jul, 2014 @ 6:27pm
"Aboard them are twin golden records that contains pictures and sounds of Earth, along with symbolic directions for playing the record and data detailing the location of Earth. These artefacts of our species will continue to exist long after any remembrance of today has faded into nothingness."

Until they hit a sun, astroid, satallite (natural or Unnateral) or a planet.
Survivalist64  [author] 23 Jul, 2014 @ 3:17pm
@mangosuno

I'm more than happy to hear suggestions on how to improve balance.
Sapphire Bullets 23 Jul, 2014 @ 1:08pm
Kind of redundant with the Hubble Space Telescope also occupying the same tech rung.
76561198135483937 23 Jul, 2014 @ 12:27pm
maybe a bit too OP
