Unrad Grimbeard along with the units in this mod with better balanced and new textures! You don't need this mod anymore, really.

Excavators, Unrad's Excavators and Unrad Grimbeard(future Legendary Hero I'm currently working on) were named in Games Workshop's magazine 'Citadel Journal' #19 as an unofficial unit. I would say they're very much lore accurate.

The Citadel Journal 19 can be found as an PDF if you search for it on google. :)

Sorry Phyrex, I noticed one more thing during my play through today. If you are in tier 3 settlements or above you can no longer recruit the basic miner. It seems the Excavators replaces the option entirely. Not sure if it was intended or not :)

I will look into it.

Edit: I just did a quick campaign with Thorek and the Excavators recieve the buffs from his skill line. And they do have the correct Unit Set in the .pack file(they have the "Miner tag").

Kazador is playable through Mixu's mod, right? Probably some conflict. Don't have more time to look into it tonight, will take a closer look tomorrow. Sorry :(

Sorry to bother you Phyrex but when you get the chance can you give the Dwarf Excavators the tag miners in terms of bonuses received from upgrades?

I'm currently playing a campaign with Karazor Dragonslayer and he gets upgrades for miners but it doesn't effect the Dwarf Excavators because they don't have the miner unit tag.

My apologies, Anax and anyone else getting crashes. Not entirely sure how or why it crashes from the updates. It 'should' work perfectly fine from now on if you start a new campaign.

I will have to be more careful with future releases I suppose and do more QA-testing. Sorry!

Updated! I had the wrong number in a key row in one of the tables, preventing Ekrund Miners from appearing in the RoR pool. Complete newbie mistake, sorry! Thanks @Reichmar for finding that out.

I think the Dwarf keep is suitable for the unit as the base unit - the miners is recruited from the same chain. I think you can add a requirement that you also need an armoury to be built if you felt it was required.

They are recruited from the tier 3 main building, Dwarf Keep. I'm not sure if that's where they should be recruited from or not. Or if they should require additional buildings like the Armoury. Balance-wise, the unit could perhaps use some more work.

Hey I'm sorry if this is already mentioned. Started a new game with this mod. It overwrites ekrund miners in the RoR pool for me. Also, what building are they recruited from in the campaign? I don't see them at all.

Work in skirmish battles though. Thanks! Cool mod!

In regards to the unit cards, truth be told, I just edited and copy pasted parts from various unit cards into these current ones with Microsoft Paint.

The RoR, Unrad's Excavators, have blasting charges. I will consider adding a blasting charges variant in the near future, no promises though. I'm occupied with my next mod.

Hey, two ideas:
1. You can use Gotrek's animations for the RoR and actually give them the lantern in their left hand like on the picture. I think it would look very cool!
2. I would propose giving them a different weapon. Instead of the usual pickaxe, you can easily kitbash a warpick or a crow's beak (bec de corbin) https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dnd4/images/b/b1/%24_59.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20150119145625 , these are very effective and brutal anti-armor weapons.

After years of being beaten by almost every unit, these miners went back to their holds and did one push up for every grudge they had tallied. When they reemerged it was a terrifying sight to behold.
