I know you offered to make a too many cooks mod but what I'd really love is a confirmation window on the "return to port" button I like to skip the last leg of the return trip but a lot of times I complete my mission before I want to head home and I end up accidentally returning to port by miss-clicking.

Wrong place to ask, try the Steam forum, this one doesn't has any code that could cause such issue, this one simply changes the generation chance of the Cook skill to 0

i have some issues with exiting the skill menu for the skipper only, ctd on multiple tries now. other officers seems to work fine. what could be the cause ?

I still get cooks. Is there a place in the order it needs to load? I've tried 1st and last.

Yes, the "outdated" mensage you see on the modlist is just refering to the version stated on the manifest file, you can safely ignore it in most cases.
