That's understandable. But I was using many of the genes for my own custom xenotypes. If I may, could you release a standalone mod for the removed genes? That way it doesn't interfere with the new Faifox xenotype.

@Seos I used the Mid-Saver Mod as you suggested and it worked perfectly!! My game is fine now! & the world map is now back to normal. Thanks so much for the quick response & troubleshooting!! This Mod is a must-have for me...so thanks again for everything!

Hi...love this mod so much!! But the new update w/deleting the faction while people could be mid-game...not sure if that was the best idea. The world screen is completely blank now in my save. & my Save is pretty much toast if I can't travel anywhere. I checked the log...and I'm aware there are other issues, which have always been in my log and have not caused game issues. I really apologize for deleting the faction. I thought about it for a long time and decided to remove it, as I do not want to greatly inflate the fractions.
I tested on about 150 mods, the error appeared once and did not lead to problems.
But yes, you can use a cleaning mod.

Otherwise you might have to go through your save file and remove references to the old faction, I think.

@Henry, save stopped working? In theory, an error should appear that such a faction does not exist, make a save and load, the error will no longer appear.

@[CoE] darkrhodes I do know how to edit and make xml mods to an extent, shoot I can even edit or create genes. Shoot, ive been keeping up with kijin's biotech version lately so I can add the same changes to my edited local copy im calling "Kijin Biotech Lite" where I removed everything but the xenotype, faction, and genes. Got rid of all the items except dark matter, the workbenches, the clothes, the bb body requirment, the cosmetic genes except horns and hair color, the ending, the weapons/armor, and edited pawnkinds so they use medieval and tribal instead where logical. My main bottleneck for making my own xenotype mod is I suck at 2D art. I specify 2D since I do know how to 3D model due to a ton of time playing VRChat in the past lol

I also don't know C code but you can suprisingly do a fair bit with custom genes and xenos using just xml from what i can tell

@ParasiticSquid Love your concept perfect fit for Biotech's setup Gene's and Mechanators.
Just like any other xenotype you could add parts too so Bunny ears on Robot Maids.
There are so many possibilities, Wish i was a modder i would work with you on this if i had the Know how. Hope some one picks this project up.

@Seos Plenty of mods to allow archite gene inheritance but also plenty of android or synthetic mods that add races that are built and not born. When I first suggested it I meant it in a whacky rimworld fashion considering glitterworlds do some weird stuff in the lore just because they can or want to test something. Weird stuff that eventually finds it's way onto a rimworld. Shoot, I was mostly going off base game mechanoids in biotech since even those are born not built despite being synthetic. They're energy is even labeled bio-electric ingame and they're gestated in what's effectively a mechanoid growth vat.

So my logic was that a sentient race of synthetics would be created in a similar way to how mechanoids are, but more complicated and impossible to replicate on a rimworld as well as just a labor or combat based depending on why they were made. That unlike mechanoids they were at least part human or close enough due to advances in the process.

@ParasiticSquid, most of the genes are archit, so sexual transmission cannot be passed on, but transferring genes like vampires is also not an option. Still, synthetics, that is, not born, but made.

Although another thing I was thinking of if you still want ideas is a crash bandicoot inspired xenotype. Basically mutant bandicoot people created by a unethical mad scientist on a glitterworld who was a huge fan of a certain game series lol

A little dumb idea but would be neat to see at least one crash mod for the game. Suprised there aren't really any as it is

@Seos Could have two seperate ones so why not both, one that is the workers and one that's the hostiles. The hostiles being combat created ones. As for the worker ones I explained in my comments by definition they couldn't survive on their own on a planet as hostile as the rim so wouldn't have their own faction and instead be scattered through other factions. Basically they would be like rouge servitors from stellaris, need someone to serve to fulfill their lifes purpose and to protect them from others. As for the lack of breeding, that kind of defeats the purpose of giving them genes doesn't it? Although I suppose players can easily create a version that can breed so default sterile might fit. Gotta love how customizable biotech is lol

@ParasiticSquid, Disagree about "no combat skills", I see them as a hostile faction towards the player. Regarding reproduction, there is some ancient factory that produces synthetics from time to time, in which case they are sterile and cannot pass on their genes. You can only get them by capturing.
As for the gene, I'll just list the options: No meat from the bodies, food is required for recharging (I think about recharging like drones, but this is unlikely), immunity to flammability, immunity to diseases and toxins, immunity to food poisoning (like synthetic the body is not susceptible to disease), regeneration of limbs or just scars, increased carrying capacity, cannot die of old age, sterile. Well, this is what I came up with at the moment.
