Not yet.... But that's now something I might do... Lol
Meep 16 Jul @ 5:41am
Does the chitin work as an airtight material for gravships? I'm considering slowly rebuilding it like Theseus' ship.
ElTwoFour  [author] 16 Jun @ 11:08am
They will!

I hope these things make the transition to 1.6,

I... uh... Well. Thats new. lol
.Avi 28 May @ 4:05pm
My game bugged when I was making a caravan that had a sowoboe bug, and now it has a melee weapon (dragon horn from dragons descent, not too bad of a weapon) and I can't even unequip it

Thanks to melee animations I can have it execute my enemies and its just funny to me to have a bug executing people
ElTwoFour  [author] 18 May @ 6:28pm
@StockSounds, I'll be honest I often think about making them just a tad less common. But then I have a herd of them get pissed off by the raid I couldn't possibly have handled on my own at the time it happened and I'm just like... maybe I'll just forget that...
StockSounds 18 May @ 4:10pm
These things are so splendidly overpowered for how common they are, so much so that one single sowoboe went mad and it took out two of my colonists, injured one, and I couldn't kill it without use of a gauntlet turret.
ElTwoFour  [author] 11 May @ 10:14am
@CharmingCat, I don't use that mod myself but I'll take a look and see if I can't make that work.
CharmingCat 11 May @ 1:45am
You know what would make them even better? Compatibility with Vanilla Cooking Expanding to turn their milk into cheese. I desire Bug Cheese.
ElTwoFour  [author] 26 Nov, 2024 @ 7:42am
Hehe, "a bit overpowered". Thanks! Don't forget to check out Wooleyboe bugs as well for your Cold Rimworld games!

i love these little guys, even if i think they're a bit overpowered

You're welcome and thank you!

Hoping to have the Wooleyboe Bug mod out in the next day or so. (Kinda forgot it was more or less finished when I went on my vacation and it just needs some final tweaks to its mod page and a final go over in game to make sure everything is absolutely working as intended...)
Zero 20 Nov, 2024 @ 9:53am
you mod rocks man thanks so much

Me either. -_- Wooleyboe's are now available to my main testers to fiddle out the rest of the bugs, so now I'm just gathering funds for the textures again and hopefully the curse won't continue and the person will be able to finish it. :P
Quadraxis 20 Apr, 2024 @ 6:20am
Thanks for the Update Sir. Can't wait to see the other ones.
ElTwoFour  [author] 8 Feb, 2024 @ 11:27am
@Fireclawiswoot, the additional modules will include more Sowoboe Bug types that will use colorations from other types of isopods. Though those are on hold while I gather the finances to have those textures made.
Fireclawiswoot 8 Feb, 2024 @ 4:55am
Isopoooooods!!!

Wonder if you could do more fun colors? Lots of variety in P. Scaber, Lava,Koi, dalmation, orange varients of the previous two, piebald. P. lavis as well, dairy cow is my favorite.
Xenon2462 20 Nov, 2023 @ 10:38am
maybe rubber ducky could be like a sort after breed and breeding them could be considered a way to make money, like thrumbos
ElTwoFour  [author] 19 Nov, 2023 @ 11:20am
@{Sweg} Xenon2462, The wooley boes will have their own pattern (as will all other sowoboe types) which I think is closest matched to the "Panda King" coloration. And I definitely want to use the Rubber Ducky variant. We are actively trying to make sure that the patterns become representative of the real world isopod pet trade. That said the body types may have considerable change compared to real isopods for the cool factor.
Xenon2462 19 Nov, 2023 @ 7:50am
i love isopods, as an owner of some i'd love to see some real world inspirations like magic potion, red/white/blue powders, rubber ducky variants, maybe even ones like dairy cows species that are literally genetically capable of producing milk.
ElTwoFour  [author] 17 Nov, 2023 @ 7:36am
@GinRinDragon, I'm glad you like it! Hopefully I will find a new texture artist for the Wooleyboe Bug as they're complete save for the art. Currently I'm also nearly done with the Sowoboe Ranchers factions release as well, who will trade sowoboe related animals and resources (and guns. They love guns.)

Thank you and let me know if you notice and bugs or have any suggestions!
GinRinDragon 17 Nov, 2023 @ 6:43am
I love this mod and I can't wait for more, especially the woolly and the silk.
ElTwoFour  [author] 5 Nov, 2023 @ 5:56pm
@sewnutty, do let me know if they are compatible with them. Working right now on a Sowoboe Rancher faction too. (Though it will be a module to attach to this mod not part of this main one on its own.)
sewnutty 5 Nov, 2023 @ 5:20pm
Considering i like yak ranches in rimworld this isnt a hard sell for me to enjoy! XD
On another note i should seriously test this to see if it is compatible with insectoids expanded because i want chitin riot armor.
hottt3 11 Oct, 2023 @ 9:12pm
They look so truly creepy. Thanks for the mod anyway:Lightning:
ElTwoFour  [author] 25 Jun, 2023 @ 6:24pm
Because I forgot that collection still existed and was in the middle of adjusting it into a "selection of mods that work well with Mantodeans" collection.
average AI 25 Jun, 2023 @ 4:40pm
why is this part of the mantoaden collection?
ElTwoFour  [author] 10 Jun, 2023 @ 11:04am
@Graybaby, Aye! They were originally designed for my brother and are indeed meant to be OP. I may offer a Module in the future to balance their stats for those who wish to have a more vanilla appropriate experience with them however.
Graybaby 10 Jun, 2023 @ 9:46am
They seem pretty fun, but I think they're fallen into the massively overpowered category, takes 2 days to grow to full size for 1450 odd meat and some of the hardest material in the game, you can also milk them every 2 days.

Equally very -very- hard to kill, fun if you want the game to get a lot easier, can feel cheap after a while.

Overall, I like them conceptually and in practical use, but they need to be harder to tame at bare minimum.

I'd personally make them offer less meat/chitin and take longer to produce milk/"wool"and less of it as well as far harder to tame. If they were one of the hardest things to tame, obtaining them would feel earned and such a victory, it currently feels unfortunately cheap.

Thick and warm....

...

I know what I just said.
Gerewoatle 9 Jun, 2023 @ 3:02pm
I'm looking forward to that thick bugmilk.

Update!

I have found a texture artist for the Wooleyboe Bug!
ElTwoFour  [author] 27 May, 2023 @ 12:15pm
Hello! No update for Sowoeboe Bugs yet but I do have an update on another mod I've done a fair amount of work on!

That mod is The Elden Rim Armory by Sharpie!

I helped with the xml for this mod and its really great for anyone into the Elden Ring series!

Elden Rim Armory brings you weapons and armor (with their own work bench) from the popular Elden Ring series and is a must for anyone looking for that wonderful dark fantasy addition to your Rimworld!

If the mod does well Sharpie will make more modules as well! So drop a like, subscribe, leave a comment and enjoy!

ElTwoFour  [author] 20 May, 2023 @ 11:12pm
So it seems that my texture artist isn't going to be able to deliver in an acceptable time frame so I'm going to start looking around for a new texture artist. I'll keep you all updated as I continue to look. Wooleywoeboe Bugs will be delayed until I can get that sorted. On the plus side I'm going to get the bits and bobs of the Sweepwoeboe Bugs going as well.

So once I find a texture artist to make the Wooleyboe Bug and Sweepyboe Bug I'll be able to add both modules to the list of Sowoeboe Bug mods.
ElTwoFour  [author] 20 May, 2023 @ 11:12pm
Wooleyboe Bugs will provide you with a cold zone variant of the Sowoeboe Bug which will carry somewhat less and be less tanky but have a slightly stronger attack itself. It will also produce Wooleyboe Wool and a special milk that when consumed gives a living organism a higher resistance to the cold.

Sweepyboe Bugs will provide eggs and clean filth from around your base. They also will produce a tiny amount of chitin and milk per day. Considerably less than a Sowoeboe bug. This breed is also smart enough to refuel structures!
ElTwoFour  [author] 19 Mar, 2023 @ 8:32pm
I actually love it when folk bring up the bugs and glitches to me. Lets me know they're actually happening. I'm on my own for the most part with testing so any help I can get in finding more is appreciated.

I'm also super keen on the next iteration but I'm waiting on a texture from an artist. Soon I hope.
Iopy 19 Mar, 2023 @ 8:22pm
All good, just letting you know :) Not trying to bombard you with things I find. I just like the bugs, so I use them frequently and notice the odd issue. Super keen for your next iteration of them!
ElTwoFour  [author] 19 Mar, 2023 @ 8:20pm
Really? I'll have to check on that... Can't think of what might be in the way for that... Probably some minor thing I missed.
Iopy 19 Mar, 2023 @ 8:14pm
On a side note, i've noticed the Sowoboe Bugs dont have a gear tab when they're being used as a caravan, all other pack animals have a gear tab so you can see what they're hauling. However this doesn't appear to be available for these bugs, hopefully thats something that can be sorted at some point :)
ElTwoFour  [author] 7 Mar, 2023 @ 10:53am
I've noticed such issues before as well and it seems tied somehow to the body size and carry capacity. Been looking into ways to fix it without reducing their size so much. Might have to make a new think tree for them to help them handle their tasks. I'm not sure though.
Iopy 6 Mar, 2023 @ 8:47pm
I've noticed that might be a mod conflict with one of the other mods that i'm using, its makes bugs have Oviposters which in turn is supposed to have the male fertilise the eggs within the female, but that seems to fail and even with the setting for the to overwrite it still seems to fail, so that's likely just an issue my end and not with the mod. Its effecting all bugs, base game and modded.

I did however see a lot of lines of log being created by the Sowoboe Bugs, not sure if these are an issue or whether its just a lot of spam, but thought i'd let you have a look for yourself and see:

ElTwoFour  [author] 6 Mar, 2023 @ 2:42am
I haven't noticed any issues on my end but I'll double check the xml see if something went wrong. Thanks for letting me know!
Iopy 5 Mar, 2023 @ 8:35pm
Hey ElTwoFour, just wondering, do the Sowoboe Bugs breed? Mine never seem too.. All other animals from maybe different mods do, just specifically not these. Any thoughts or is it just really uncommon?
ElTwoFour  [author] 25 Feb, 2023 @ 12:23pm
If you ever notice the mountains disappearing again, feel free to grab a github log and send it along in the Bugs and Suggestions Discussion! Might help might not but it will give me more data to compare and look into!

Never heard of a mod removing sandstone... Normally its specifically granite. Interesting.
HannahBug 25 Feb, 2023 @ 12:15pm
Thankfully I had a backup, so I do retain my mountains ; ) Or most of them... Something else broke my sandstone, but it wasn't this mod

Wish I could help! But I know very little about modding as it stands. Look forward to more buggies, though :winter2019happyyul:
