@Ghost1Actual23, this is a mod replacing some of the RHS garments with S&S counterpart. I did it because I don't like how RHSUSAF uniforms look, not to update them to modern standards.

I couldn't care any less. On the screenshot up there these helmets look 1:1, so I don't feel like changing it.

yes but this requires loading ALIVE, I removed respective entries from the config so there is no swapping with or without Alive and I recommend others to do so too.

Bit Late, if you have the ALIVE Mod you can select units in Editor and under attributes and in States you can disable ALIVE Orbat Loadout which will let you swap out gear on units and not have it replaced

@Astute, easiest way to understand this would be to open my configs and compare them to yours generated with Alive by default, and give a read to encoding guide on Bohemia Wiki: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Characters_And_Gear_Encoding_Guide#Character_configuration

TLDR You have to get rid of Alive entries (iirc it was custom init and some event handler, they are pretty straightforward if you know basics of SQF), you add a backpack to unit with backpack = "myBackpackClassname" entry and add items and mags to the entire unit equipment (can't choose what you add where) with Items[], RespawnItems[], magazines[], respawnMagazines[], linkedItems[] and respawnLinkedItems[]. You should join official Arma discord server or "Arma 3 Scripts and Goodies" server if you want more detailed help.

Would you be able to elaborate on how to get around the gear replacement event handler? I didn't understand what to add where to magazines[ ] etc or how to add the items to backpacks.

Is there a chance we can get a version that replaces RHS? I'm not a fan of RHS generally just cause how boring and bland their gear feels.

@Axle yeah it's pretty simple, look for "class EventHandlers : EventHandlers" in CfgVehicles and delete it whole with everything within its brackets for every unit, then add missing mags to "respawnMagazines[]" and "Magazines[]" and its done. Custom backpacks will require you to manually add them to config, same with weapons with attachments.

I am curious to how you removed the gear replacement event handler? I think that's the only problem stopping me from making Alive factions. Any specific lines in the config we need to take out?

i like RHS MARPAT-WD camo, looks pretty good and realistic, but multicam/ocp camo looks horrible proabably because of Arma 3 lighting system which makes anyone wearing Multicam/OCP just a yellow dot/silhouette, very easy to spot.

@hamsajeanjacket1337, there's no US winter faction in RHSUSAF iirc and there are no winter camouflages in S&S so no. This is a faction mod afterall, not a retexture. If you provide me ready-to-use uniforms mod, I can make a faction config for them.

S&S is currently working on a modern 1998-2008 mod with actual MARPAT and USMC gear.

@KImorst, US Army units wear either UCP or OCP/Multicam and unfortunately there is no such retexture for S&S. If I was to retexture these uniforms myself, it would probably take way more time than I actually can afford to spend. :( Anyway, feel free to link a UCP/OCP retexture mod for S&S here if you ever find one!
