Same here, cant build academies. Had to turn it off, build them, turn it on again xd

There is a bug you cannot build academies with this mod, it seems paradox flipped (so yes becomes no) building_requirement_tribal_holding_in_county definition last year.

@Squirtacus that's basically what this does for academies, although I'd also argue that even then they aren't very good.

@Pepper I was pretty disappointed that building one of the academy types locks the rest of the building slots so the ability to build more than just one building per academy would be a nice improvement. In CK2 you could build multiple "wings" on university great works. Maybe something like that.

@Pepper The problem with academies right now is that the bonuses don't carry over when you upgrade them. So level 2 doesn't keep the bonuses from level 1, instead only giving the bonuses that were intended to be added to the existing ones. It has been reported to the team and I assume the person who set them up just hadn't made custom buildings before.

Not sure if it's a conflict with another mod, but this doesn't seem to be working for me with the new update. I'm guessing its a conflict with City of Wonders if that is the case, for anyone wanting to use both mods.

@Pepper I'll be damned, that worked; I guess it was just the displayed requirements being missing, then. Surprising, since even dev mode didn't show the correct requirements.

The lower ranked buildings seem to work perfectly too - it's strong, yet fairly reasonable IMO. Makes Academies worth capturing!

I quite like @quietliving2.0's idea of basing options on the schools of magic! I could see Restoration giving health too / as an alternative, Alteration increasing income (possibly in the Duchy, but a fairly low number?), etc.

@Pepper maybe some stuff pertaining to the different schools of magic? for example, a hall of destruction could give bonuses to warmages, a hall of restoration could give less friendly fatalities, something like that. :)

@Deadcurze The way academies were designed was that only a single building line can be constructed in a given academy. I modified it so that higher level academies can support the default amount of buildings but only 1 at a high level. (For example, a level 1 academy can have a single building up to level 2 while a level 2 academy can have a single building up to level 4 and 3-4 buildings up to level 1 and a level 3 academy can support a single building up to level 6 and the remaining 3-4 buildings up to level 2) For the Mage's Towers that you couldn't upgrade - was the academy itself still level 1? That would explain why it couldn't be upgraded further.

Cities seem to work just fine, but Academies are a bit wonky - the only building that can be built is the Mage's Academy line and I can't seem to upgrade that line farther than 'Mage's Towers'. The button to upgrade to 'Greenhouse' is greyed out, but the 'All of these:' requirements are empty.

Interestingly, the requirements for the step after that are present.

I know Academies are a bit wonky for EK2 as a whole at this stage, but I figured I'd let you know since you've changed that building line.

(I noticed it in an ongoing save game, then tested it using only EK2, this mod, (and advanced cheat menu, just to speed things up), in that load order.)

This mod also adds in traits in the Ruler Designer, like Dragonborn, the Mage traits, and Lifespan traits for humans

@Seventh Heaven Yeah... encountered this too. And feelt a bit... closed in. Because no idea where to conquer next if i am not allowed to hold the surounding counties anyways... XD

Also: Is it realy OP if everyone can do it? I gues AU rulers too are effected from this...?

This is necessary because certain duchy capitals are literally cities.
