The update date would suggest it hasn't but I'm asking to be sure.

I'm a new player to the game and this mod seems to fit what I was looking for but the game crashed with it installed so I was not sure if it was due to the mod or not.

I've seen it, the only UI system it talks about is one for adding new assets (sound, models, textures). You still have to find values inside the XML files to edit anything in game, and thats basically impossible.

In the case of the Forester range, it has the same range as the fishing boat, which makes no sense because the fishing boat has tremendously smaller range on it. I checked both of those files in the game to check what entries were different for the radius. Which leads me to believe thats not the radius to change and there was no other obvious radius value anywhere else.

If I want to change output or costs or anything like that, I have to go find some magic numbers somewhere, because it doesn't use anything obvious like "Plank", it uses "3742", some four digit code indicating the item somewhere in the game files.

The lack of information and chinese commenting in it is basically the portion that makes this a huge pain in the ass. There's no telling what does what. I checked several things in the game and none of it made any sense. So no, not really easy to do.

Yea, I looked into modding this game, its ridiculous. Decided not to try. This game would need tools to assist with modding it because doing it with notepad++ only is next to impossible.

@Vas - not gonna lie, it's been months since I looked at modding this, nice idea though, if I have a tinker again I'll have a look. Sounds like a nice starter mod for someone though if they (ooh for example) fork my building booster mod as a starter, find the folder of original xml files that the mod references, found the ID numbers of the buildings and look in the right file for anything mentioning radius ;)

@TheExceed - sorry no, and I don't remember seeing anything mentioning that along the way, I'm guessing it'd be out of the scope as I try to mess with as few files as possible for compatibility.

I've been trying to find good mods for this game but it seems people prefer to make things unbalanced, or rather mods that are entirely Chinese and there's no way to tell what they do.

One simple thing I want is to just have increased radius for all my work zones. Forestry, Gathering, etc. No extra workers, no increased speeds or other stuff, just a larger work zone. Perhaps an increase in max workers if the building doesn't already let you upgrade it with an additional worker. (Would rather the building just have that upgrade option added to it to keep the immersion).

Is that something you might be able to do? A simple range mod for all buildings that have a work range? That is, all that have a work range for wild stuff, not the stuff that works in city stuff.

Fishing, Gathering, Forest management. That sorta thing. Not the latrines or hospitals or anything. I guess it'd be better if it was modular eh? A range mod for each building with range. But eh, anyway. Just some thoughts.

Thanks for this mod and thanks for including the files it touches. Most modders don't, which isn't a big deal until you find a mod that says it "will conflict with mods that change XXX files" so good work!

The number of seed (and animal) spawn points on large maps is already tripled from 3 to 9, plus there is a respawn buff. If you keep an eye on the map you'll see new seeds popping up all over the place, just be ready to go and harvest them.

I think I remember seeing settings for probability of different seeds in the files somewhere and it's a nice idea, if I get the time I shall have a look and see...

Until then stick the Console V2 mod on, open the console and type

I've given fish a little buff (5/6/7 to 7/8/9), and kind of doubled gold & jade (3/4/5 to 7/8/9).

I might do another version with larger map sizes and massive amounts of resources, I put gold up hugely while tinkering with the first version of this to see what broke and it looked silly but it worked.

Sorry just looked to refresh my memory and yes, while aspects of resources are controlled by other files (eg density/size of herds of animals) special resources are controlled by the CurMapResPoint blocks in the NewGameMapSizeItem.xml that is altered by this mod (eg guaranteed animal cubs appearing within those herds)...

The files that control things like herd density/size don't mention the mapSize parameter and so everything spawns normally, and "special" spawns will spawn at the same rate, and across the whole map.

Though yes, more is nicer, I'm going to tinker with some little buffs...

Resources still spawn adequately for me, and special lands were untouched by design. The file I looked at that seemed to control resource spawns defined them in terms of radius in which they'd respawn plus number of respawns and I was tempted to buff things, but as I noticed no drop in seeds, cubs, jade and gold I counted that all as "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Any problems please let me know.

I may be tempted to add resource buffs, especially if anything seems broken, but as other mods seem to be available for resource buffs I'd prefer to leave it to them (and might even write another for a resource boost now you've got me thinking about it again).
