Service Mechanoid Raids

I can add on to this that late game raids from the labor bots is just a bit ridiculous, while it doesn't full on crash for me it still tanks my TPS due to their sheer numbers and playing a power point presentation isn't exactly fun, neither is the HUGE clean up of all the mech's bodies afterwards either so I'd personally suggest reconsideration on how cheap they are in terms of raid points or just adding them on to already existing mech raids like suggested in a previous comment, of course it's your mod so you do what you want with it, especially since it's your own time spent on working on the mod if you choose to change things, but I just think it might make things just a little more enjoyable for most people using the mod because I too love the idea of a killer roomba just coming by trying to murder my colonists.

Oops..
I could reverse the priority and make it so that more expensive mechanoids are chosen more often than hordes upon hordes of lifter bots, which could save computers in the endgame.

I love the idea of this mod, but late game I get service mech raids so large that they literally crash my game :/ Can you put some kind of cap on them?
DemonX3 19 Apr, 2024 @ 4:03am
Ah, magnificient
Bonible  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 3:37am
@DemonX3 It should still work since it's just an XML mod, so I'll go ahead and update it for you.
DemonX3 18 Apr, 2024 @ 1:45pm
Say, anyone can confirm if this still runs on 1.5 fine or if it needs an update?
Bonible  [author] 6 Nov, 2023 @ 1:18am
@Farbott - This mod was made when I had a kind of worse method at patching into mechanoid raids. The way this works right now is that instead of patching the enemy mechanoids into pre-existing raids, it just adds new ones of it's own.

And.. I feel a bit lazy at the moment.. X_X
Farbott 5 Nov, 2023 @ 4:50pm
It'd be nice to see an option to allow them to be mixed into normal raids, cause its neat, but i rather fight the big boys every time with some of them acting as meatshields
Bonible  [author] 15 Aug, 2023 @ 2:38am
Goodness, I guess that should explain it.
Working on a mod that re-adds Constructoid and Fabricor's guns tho.
DemonX3 15 Aug, 2023 @ 2:36am
Well to be fair I had over 3mil colony wealth (thanks medpod for your wacky unrealistic wealth value)

I think it's the actual cap actually. Haven't seen more than that.
Bonible  [author] 15 Aug, 2023 @ 2:34am
@DemonX3

ONE.. THOUSAND..
I fear I may have made them too cheap - but at the same time, moments like these are fun to read.
DemonX3 15 Aug, 2023 @ 2:31am
I use compressed raids with cap on 300 so only these raids are compressed as I don't want any other changed. Even without compression these raids are much more dangerous than any other since I don't do the 1 by 1 enter killboxes, they just swarm everything.

Will never forget a collective thousand of lifters, agrihands, constructoids, paramedics and cleansweepers pushing my entire colony to the brink of destruction by raw spam. Had to call every single ally over. Might be my fault for not having any grenades, lol.

Simply amazing
Neunmalklug 1 May, 2023 @ 10:00am
not your bad, i can accept that this is how its supposed to be. i just dont think any system can handle this xD
Bonible  [author] 1 May, 2023 @ 4:17am
Service mechanoid points are very low and cheap, this is probably why.
My bad!
Neunmalklug 30 Apr, 2023 @ 7:00am
fun in early game, but its really heavy on performance in lategame ;)
i had a raid with ~700 service mechs

Bonible  [author] 19 Dec, 2022 @ 1:36am
I am not that advanced of a coder, I only know how to add them to raids
finalshdw 18 Dec, 2022 @ 9:00pm
This is perfect, it would be cool to add in a seige raid of this type, a constructor that builds turrets and a wood fire generator, an agrihand that cuts down trees in the area, and a hauler. They could also build an auto mortar and act like a regular raider seige.
You could also give them individual AI,
The constructor acts like a sapper, deconstructing any buildings of the player close to it.
The agrihand could target farms and cut all plants in the grow zones.
The hauler could be the take what they can raiders.
The cleaner bots to target only colonists.
or even meaner your agrihands could target anima, garulan, and pollox trees.

The tide of haulers overwhelms any great centipede

OH.... I just had a raid with a hundred of these service bots and I did not account for how many of them would be destroying my walls.

They came from 3 directions, spread out and started tearing down walls from all directions while my 5 pawns did their best to protect the base.

I thought they would be dinky little bots, but they chewed through my base pretty fast. :reterrified:

I also use the compressed raids mod, so maybe that made them stronger than usual. :KScared:

Either way, it caught me by surprise and provided a challenge I wasn't ready for.... keeping my on my toes. :spazhorror:
Bonible  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 10:25pm
@hovershift

I included raids with Apocritons because it is like a "necromancer" type thing.
I hope you enjoy this special hell :]

If anyone is wondering why 'service' robots would attack a colony... search youtube for "energetically autonomous tactical robot".

@Bonible
faced my first EMI mech cluster last night. over half my combat mechs were red. i blasted that thing to kingdom come as fast as i could. no way was that gonna be me.
Bonible  [author] 21 Nov, 2022 @ 5:08am
@Spoons

This is why you install EMI shield mods. All that bandwidth could go *zap*!
bonafide boofer 20 Nov, 2022 @ 8:44pm
i can see it now: 20 fabricator bots rolling their way down the valley towards my turret emplacements with their dinky little slug-throwers. it fits, too, since a negligent lone mechanitor not watching their bandwidth could totally get murdered by all his servants.
DangLonsDo 20 Nov, 2022 @ 6:22am
ALRIGHT MEN LETS ELIMINATE THESE SERVICE MECHANOIDS, FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!!!!! (1 hour lator) 99% of those soldiers dead, THESE STEEL DEMONS ARE MORE POWERFULL THEN THEY LOOK RUN!!!!!!
