Hey Lovecraft Gaming, It is currently in the works however due to cities being all handmade it unfortunately takes quiet a bit of time

Would love to have the cities in a separate mod, they look very cool to have fights in but this has too many requirements

I might try

lol I feel you, If it's any consolation (and feel free to test) You probably could download the mod without mammalia, go into the VFE toggleables and switch the damar to human toggle and apart from some errors as far as I am tracking it should work
assistant Frost, Science team 17 Nov, 2022 @ 10:10am
i just dont want to download mammalia

Hey Bobbins, Actually that was a thought however there aren't many cities in the mod just yet so as I work on the other mods (Which will have their own cities as well) I will add them to this and likely a mod that will release as an extension of base generation

possibility of seperating the cities from the xenotype stuff?

I thought as much, thanks for the tips my dude!

Actually yes, go into dev mode and hit your / key. Then go to the top left and type spawn, under one of the items you should see quickspawn structure this will allow you to spawn any of the layouts in your mod. As for settlement the only real thing you can do is a dev quicktest on the main menu or fill your map with just your faction and save. Then load up when you want to test what spawns
The Blind One 16 Nov, 2022 @ 10:08pm
Ah I do have one more question. How do you quickly test if the settlements you wrote in are properly generated? Is there an easy dev tool or trick to it?

wow thanks for the clear explanation, I'll use your mod as a reference for sure as I'll think I need it. Best way to learn is to copy another am I right? (won't copy you outright tho and will mention you if I push a settlement component in my mod). I'm making a mod that involves tribal dirtmoles so I want to give them mountain homes for the realism :D as well for yttakin having their own tribal winter homesteads. This will definitely help me to achieve that.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me here and feel free to leave any suggestions you might have for buildings so I can create more for you to reference
TechnoFox  [author] 16 Nov, 2022 @ 9:36pm
Another thing to note is that I use barricades to keep the colonist inside until the building is breached. If you want feel free to copy the def and texture, just make sure to credit me and we are all squared

As for cities was a bit more work but definitely adds a lot more to the game. Repeat steps 1 & 2 (Keep in mind to keep the city in a block of around 150 x 150) you will have to build the whole city within the block (the buildings inside the city are not randomly generated). 3. Settlement def, however make sure that it is rather sizeable 200 x 200 is pretty good and try to retain the same setting (Should be in the Layouts> Settlement_Cities Def if you need to reference
TechnoFox  [author] 16 Nov, 2022 @ 9:30pm
Essentially 1. create a building in rimworld, 2. Use the export system layed out in the link, 3. Set up a settlement def (Basically a randomizer that picks from your buildings ie. layouts) then put it in your faction def (feel free to reference the Damar faction def for reference) 4. profit

So the process is actually rather simple, unfortunately actually creating every building for it to be spawned is the difficult part. For villages its rather simple go to VFE and follow his tutorial here is the link https://github.com/Vanilla-Expanded/VanillaExpandedFramework/wiki/Exporting-buildings

Wow very neat, question though, how do you generate your own bases / cities ? Genuinely curious since I'm making a faction mod at the moment and am just dabbling into this atm.
