This is a very cool weapon, but to balance it I've lowered the human/animal multipliers and changed armor pen to negative, as it was allowing shek bandits with stats in the 40s to one shot kill humans with medium equipment. With the current stats it becomes easily the best early/midgame heavy weapon

hey man I just made a chart, idk if this is the chat that was talking about it :kabuki:

"Animals" refers to the wildlife in Kenshi, like bonedogs, beakthings, bloodspiders, etc. It's not based on realism but more so on the balance idea that Polearms is an animal hunting melee weapon. Heavy Weapons are, from my experience, usually geared towards fighting skeletons and or heavily armored enemies, but I could be wrong.

I kinda just figured that the blade was rough rough to try and get a... idk kind of blade that would seem that. I think maybe nerfing the cut damage, buffing the pierce damage and something else would be good? I don't really know what animal vs human damage is, I figure animals are human so I treat it as flesh damage. Maybe it's to account for the animal's tough skin?

I'm hardly an expert in Kenshi balance, but just by eye balling I find it's weird that there's an animal damage multiplier, since those are usually reserved for Polearms. Apart from that MAYBE the blunt damage mult is a little high? Not sure though, especially because Heavy Weapons are seldom cut oriented. I'm gonna try and get a feel for it when I find one.

the grimacing blade is currently set to this

even looking at this rn kinda makes me want to change it. seems a little overpowered

I could, but I was waiting until i had a good feel for it, so I can just post a final version of the stats, and not have to worry about updating that as well as the mod itself. Kinda like how i set up this little spawn chart. I probably won't be changing how that is, but the stats might change until i feel comfortable making weapon mods in that respect

Right, but can't you post the numbers for it? At least for one verison of it, if not all
Trinity  [author] 21 Nov, 2022 @ 8:25pm
to be honest, i don't really know. I set it up to have good cutting, blunt and piercing damage because of how the blade is. I made its length and the weight around the plank's. I even made it so there's penalties for using it indoors. I won't know for sure if its overpowered until i find some that spawn at ancient or unknown grades

What are the stats, though?
