Herr Doktor, adding two mount points would allow the exact problem mentioned above: "removing this mod will delete all string lights without any grid splits or undesired effects."

Two mount points would allow the lights to become structural , holding things together, and thus possibly breaking ships when you remove them. This problem is worse than the issue you describe, so the mod author made the right choice.

These almost need another mount point on the sides, so that you can run them under ledges/overhands or over sloped surfaces. That way they can latch onto something from the side, and then onto each other.

Cool idea, will be handy for runway lights and for colour coded lighting in dark corridors inside large ships or bases to help prevent from getting mixed around in otherwise similar looking corridors etc. Great work and thanks for posting it mate.
