most medieval stuff like swords and plate armor should be OP, but not many people when this game takes place and now own real swords / good replicas, so I guess they should be very rare

yeah i removed it pretty quickly when i instantly found a sword in two crates and even a wardrobe

Can u make it damage close to machete and adjust rarity? So far once u find the sword it doesn't matter how big rates u have. Even thousands zombies can't stop u.

Everyone really liked the mod. Once it gets balanced and rarity can be changed, we'll re-add it. Cool weapon but it isn't as cool when you find it more frequently than finding a hunting knife, with damage that seems higher than a Katana. Hope to see updates to the mod soon!

Odd/accidental choice of words on my post. I didn't see I typed "dead". (because I didn't type it unfortunately) I was speaking into my phone using voice recognition .it likes to hear me incorrectly (and sometimes makes a very perplexing guess at what I said if it is unsure. I mean like, not even close). I have been burned by it before several time (a few pretty severe). I apologize. I don't remember what I actually said, but I doubt I meant to say "dead" considering your recent work on the mod. That would be a bit premature. 10 days is NOT a long time ha-ha. BUT thank you for info on absent swords. I thought that was the case. I cannot find the option forge though. I began to think there was recipe to find? I will keep looking, play with load order and all that. I am big fan of the mod. I was the first to comment here when I found a sword stuck in zombie! Thx! sorry for any misunderstanding (and always proofread voice recognition!)

Hmm, that's interesting. They currently appear under Metalworking as "Forge Longsword/Arming Sword".
As for the disappearance of your previous swords, that's moreso the way PZ handles items, after last update the game likely did not see the old swords as the same item in the new update.
Despite my long in-activity (10 whole days, wow!) this mod is not dead.

well, the recipes to make them is mot showing. The ones i had found and the few i crafted vanish after updating.. I am assuming the mod is dead. Unless the developer is still working on a new update............or I and doing something wrong on my end

These swords are actually just a bit more common than machetes in my world due to them appearing in warehouse crates, felt off. The grip is a bit too low towards the pommel. I was also using Workshop mod and it also seemed a bit silly my options for metalworking were scrap weapons or actual swords at around the same level.

This comment marks the release of version 1.1.2. Balancing was believe to have issues, most likely due to a bug in crafting thanks to the detailed feedback.

I've subbed to this mod but I see all the complaints of unbalance and easy repairs. I'll keep being subscribed but I won't use it till it gets balanced out.

For me atleast its crafting a longsword when i craft an arming sword.

"balanced for realism" is a bit of a long shot. "Balanced for realism" only works if you also add armor, accurate armor modelling, accurate flesh damage modelling, a pain system, a smithing system, resharpening, etc. If you only add the upsides of a weapon while ignoring the drawbacks, that's just OP. Imagine if this game had cars but they were always 100% and needed no fuel, but they called it realistic.

That's on the table actually, nerfing the swords is something I'm considering for an alternative patch. It would be more work for me but I'm thinking having a "balanced for gameplay" version that nerfs the swords could be a nice user option as well as the current "balanced for realism".

hey! maybe you could make the metalworking level required, level 8 instead of 3, its quite a powerful weapon, and being able to repair a sword with duct-tape doesn't exactly make sense, using a propane torch, and 2 small metal sheets, would be a better repair option! however, i do love the idea of this weapon!

This weapon is OP. It's like a katana but craftable. The cost is cheap as well, all I have to do is to dismantle metal furniture, sinks, bathtubs or loot some warehouses.

Woohoo. Just found one in the town of Doe Valley stuck through a zombie that spawned. First I thought it was a katana or it was too long hence I guess the name longsword. I don't see how to use it one-handed. So I use it during daylight hours what I don't have to use a flashlight and the thing just plows through zombies. Since I already have the Axe bonus skill points from being a firefighter I have the Long blade skill . Right after I found it I had about six zombies come climbing over a fence. They didn't stand a chance.
