Shit man, don't have the game installed, so I don't remember exactly.
I believe you need to unpack the gamefile, then just navigate the folders to where the character spreadsheet is.
Molt 14 Dec, 2014 @ 7:44am
Where and how would I go about editting the information for Jahan, in your Mod or otherwise? Which specific file? Essentially I just want default Jahan and Maddy except I want to remove "Scientist" from Jahan and give him "Know It All".
.VM8RA 5 Dec, 2014 @ 2:24pm
ok man, thanks but I don't know what I'm doing at all with this stuff.
Bucketsmith  [author] 5 Dec, 2014 @ 11:56am
I haven't updated this mod in ages. It might not be compatible for some reason. I'm rather entrailed with other stuff lately, but feel free to open up the files and edit them yourself.
It's just editing a spreadsheet, anyone can do it.

I can find the mod, it's there and it's ticked but it made no difference to the game, I'm not tech knowledgable enough to edit current save files and obviously I have to play up to point to find out if the mod is working, I'm already on my 4th restart and really don't wanna have to restart any more times so some help would be appreciated. I've played this game all week and I'm still not out of the first area due to restarts.

this didn't work mate. I started a new game with this mod installed and they both were just vanilla. what am i doing wrong?
Niko 9 Nov, 2014 @ 2:56am
Kind of useless if you dolwnload the save editor (moose edit), but nice work!
Bucketsmith  [author] 18 Oct, 2014 @ 11:03am
@loweb1: I modded the files, that's how. :P Everything is stored in editable files. Anything about the character, any items, what those items do, everything.
@holf: They're both buffed to be equal to the player, with a small bonus. Madora gets the pack mule thing as an extra and I can't remember what I gave Jahan. I think an extra point somewhere.
Zzoyd 18 Oct, 2014 @ 9:48am
How did you get their stats to be less than 5? We can't normally do that when starting a new character can we?
Holf 14 Sep, 2014 @ 3:55am
and add movement speed when not in combat :)
Holf 13 Sep, 2014 @ 8:43pm
What about buffing up mad and jahan with a fwe extra skill points? since they lack traits like the heros? just a skill or 2 :)
Bucketsmith  [author] 9 Sep, 2014 @ 8:47am
It's easy once you figure out what to do. Which took a few fellow modders and myself quite some time and effort. You quite simply look up what every variable is called and edit everything in excel-type programs.
PantLessKing 9 Sep, 2014 @ 12:48am
was it easy too change them if could you maybe put up a guild on how too do it we could change them too any class we want too?
Satan Jugend 30 Aug, 2014 @ 12:09pm
@ author - Not Eloora obviously, but It would be great if you could maybe make him into a Ranger?
Pakkun 22 Aug, 2014 @ 12:13am
good job mate
h4Wk 21 Aug, 2014 @ 4:33pm
Thx, i like :D
Bucketsmith  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 3:26pm
@Eloora: What are you looking for?
Bucketsmith  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 3:25pm
Of course you can level them.
Dorok 18 Aug, 2014 @ 1:56am
Same request than Fogy, too bad it's not possible on the base of this mod.
Eloora 16 Aug, 2014 @ 10:18am
Bucketsmith, would you consider making an alternate Jahan that doesn't start with Aero and Pyro? I'm interested in starting a complementary mage playthrough, but those two schools are the ones I find more fun using on my own hero. I know technically I "am" Jahan as well, and I'll be casting all the spells, but it is a RPG after all :)
MadKiefer 13 Aug, 2014 @ 5:34am
What if I am already in the game, like level 4? Will the mod overwrite the levels or just the stats?
Bucketsmith  [author] 11 Aug, 2014 @ 7:44am
@Fogy: Not in the same way I edited these. I'm not sure if it's possible.
Fogy 11 Aug, 2014 @ 7:18am
Anyway to make them start out "blank" with the points left to spend so you can customize them when they join you?
Bucketsmith  [author] 9 Aug, 2014 @ 5:09pm
That's not due to this mod. Head to the support forum.
Hephaistos 9 Aug, 2014 @ 4:45pm
All the NPCs are muted, I can't speak to them. I have to reinstal the game :(
Bucketsmith  [author] 9 Aug, 2014 @ 4:42pm
What are you on about?
Hephaistos 9 Aug, 2014 @ 4:40pm
Perfect bullshit, that make the NPCs muted.
Bucketsmith  [author] 7 Aug, 2014 @ 2:21pm
Uploaded to nexusmods and added link, for those who are still having trouble.
Naiadelle 7 Aug, 2014 @ 12:48pm
@Bucketsmith:
You could upload it to the Nexus Mods site. They have a section for Divinity Original Sin already.
Bucketsmith  [author] 7 Aug, 2014 @ 12:46pm
@Naiadelle: So am I, so I'm trying to figure out why some people can't get it to work and others have no issues following my guide. There has got to be something that is unreliable. The game's editor is a bit wonky, so there's that.
Yes, if I uploaded the mod somewhere else for you, you would be able to use it. Suggestions?
Naiadelle 7 Aug, 2014 @ 12:45pm
@Bucketsmith
I'm pretty tech savvy. I'm sure if I could actually *get* the file, I could copy it over and that guide would work. It seems more like a steam problem than anything else. I haven't had any trouble with other workshop items.

Do you think the mod would work if I just got the .pak file another way and just copied it to both places?
Bucketsmith  [author] 7 Aug, 2014 @ 3:04am
@Naiadelle: I've asked someone to confirm my install guide again, perhaps an update changed something. But it still worked for him, so I don't know what goes wrong when you try to install it.
Naiadelle 4 Aug, 2014 @ 12:06pm
It's a shame I can't use this mod. Steam has told me that it downloaded the workshop content, but where it has put it (or even if it actually downloaded it) I have no idea. I can't find any .pak files in the entire steam folder that match yours, so I can't copy it over.
Bucketsmith  [author] 27 Jul, 2014 @ 6:02am
@Skib: That's alright. With how wonky the editor is, I was afraid it suddenly stopped working!
Skib 27 Jul, 2014 @ 4:57am
@Bucketsmith: Whoops, well that's awkward.
Bucketsmith  [author] 27 Jul, 2014 @ 3:17am
@Skib: It *says* right in the description you have to start a NEW game...
Skib 26 Jul, 2014 @ 7:47pm
@Buckeysmith, Yep I did, when it loaded, it said that it was loading the mod. I had already recruited them though, so perhaps that's why.
Bucketsmith  [author] 26 Jul, 2014 @ 12:47pm
@Skib: Did you press [activate] after ticking the box, when selecting the mod?
@Jovial_Jesus: I'm not sure. Larian changed how savegames work and the method we had to edit those no longer works. Check the modding forum(on larian site) if you want to find out.
Jovial_Jesus 26 Jul, 2014 @ 7:48am
I imagine there's no way to use this mod once you already recruited them in your party, is it?
Skib 26 Jul, 2014 @ 3:53am
I downloaded and used your installation instructions which worked but Madora's stats don't match the ones in your screenshorts. I've ticked the arrow in the mods section in the game, I'm assuming I've done something wrong? Thanks. :)
ledutchoven 24 Jul, 2014 @ 10:42pm
it looks to be downloading in my que now... stange. I will let you know if it works out
Bucketsmith  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 10:30pm
@Nemudaran: Yeah, I meant that I couldn't fix that specific problem. Thanks for the kind words.
Nedumaran 24 Jul, 2014 @ 6:52pm
@Bucketsmith It seems to be a Steam problem. It's not installed and it's not in the userdata folder.

It's a shame that we cant enjoy what looks like an excellent mod with a lot of thought behind it.
Bucketsmith  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 12:24pm
I can't say that I know, guys. It works if you follow the install guide. If you still can't get the result, there is something wrong beyond my mod.
ledutchoven 24 Jul, 2014 @ 11:28am
i search for the file under steam usedata and it is not located... i subscribed but i cant find the file.... maybe im dumb
Nedumaran 24 Jul, 2014 @ 11:10am
Why am I not able to download this? I have subscribed to it, added to my collection, started and closed DOS, but still no DL option...
Casualgamer 23 Jul, 2014 @ 1:37pm
Clever mod, I like what you did for Jahan and yes Madora should've been a tank because a lot of begginner don't understand the basics so giving them basics companions should've been done by Larian.

Thank you.

p.s : if a new companion is a tank then you can revert back Madora but keep the clever feature you made > match equipements depending their levels. You can't imagine how many time I dreamed about this in Baldur gate, lol.
Bucketsmith  [author] 23 Jul, 2014 @ 9:59am
Alfred, one of the other two companions closest to release, actually is a sword-and-shield fighter. So when those two come out with a patch, this mod will be useless. Well, unless I managed to do a better job! :P
Uraoen 23 Jul, 2014 @ 8:48am
Personally, I found sword and shield Madora more useful than the 2h. 2h Madora was never anything to right home about imo, she did DECENT damage at best, easily out damaged by my rouge, who moved accross the battle field in 1/5th the AP. Madora was always my "tank" in the party, needing healed pretty regularly though. This is a major improvment. The developers should of made her like this to begin with.
