I love this mod thanks for creating it!

The creator mentioned something about making it play only FTL music
so if anyone wants to make it play FTL music more often follow steps below

1 go to the mod folder in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\799600\2896724554

2 open mod.rules file with notepad / or notepad++ to edit the file

3 Under Actions, in ManyToAdd where it says:
[
&<Pack1.rules>
&<Pack2.rules>
]
copy and paste it multiple times within the brackets so they repeat

Ensure that the brackets aren't copied, should look something like this
[
&<Pack1.rules>
&<Pack2.rules>
....
&<Pack1.rules>
&<Pack2.rules>
]

What I think is that this just adds to the cosmoteer tracks list and the music is picked randomly, so if you copy this a lot, the game is more likely to choose the FTL tracks than the cosmoteer tracks

Tried to download the mod because I’m a sucker for FTL and it’s OST, but the recent-ish update for Cosmot broke it I think. Says it’s not compatible with the current version, crashes when attempting to re-launch w/ the mod. Any possibility of a fix?

@EldurDrake If I manage to create a mod that uses all FTL ships that I have made and are making, I will ask for permission to use this mod for it. I kinda want to re-shape the galaxy to the FTL galaxy in this mod.

I will only make this mod when (and if) I have learned advanced modding.

@janiTNT there IS logic to decide when certain music can play, but as far as i know you cant tell what system the player is in. perhaps you can tell if creative mode is active though.

i wonder with the complex audio system you could add them to appear on tier 14+ systems or in creative

@Augoeides It adds two additional tracks with a mix of FTL music. Cosmoteers music is really complicated and each "track" is like 30 min long and more of a collection of tracks rather than just one song. I planned to make a music replacement version of the mod but then life got in the way, it MAY still be coming but id need to make time for it.

As the person below me said, does this replace the base Soundtrack of Cosmoteer, or merely add to the list?

Hi! Any potential you could look into creating a Stellaris music modpack? As well, does this replace the original soundtrack, or is this just some added tracks to enhance the already great music? Appreciate the mod, it's great!

This is awesome. Could you share your magic? I enjoy the HW and Cataclysm tracks a lot and would like to attempt something similar but I can't the music to play. Did you follow some guide?

you have internet. if you really care that much about the specifics of legality of using a cosmoteer mod you can look into it yourself. I dont know anymore than you do.

If you want my opinion, no one cares what mods you play with. if it bothers you that much then dont use the mod. otherwise go crazy

If you are worried about about it's legality effecting you then I can assure you that if its legal would effect anyone it would be me. Absolute worst case scenario, It gets removed from workshop and someone comes for me, but even disney the copyright demon doesnt bother with that level of legal action on the workshop. It is up to you if you use the mod or not with this information

@Good_Oatmeal I have edited the music heavily enough that to rip the original out of this mod and use for you own use would take substantial effort, It has been through multiple high/low pass filters and only resembles the original when pieced together in game. that being said, it still probably isnt legal.

the music is readily available youtube where people actually make money off of views. legal action must be pushed by the creators/owners of the original work for there to be any problem with copyright, and if the team behind FTL is ok with their music being profited off of then I HIGHLY doubt they have a problem with their music being appreciated with new life in a different game through a non-paid mod.

@JD I don't see any music mods on the Cosmoteer workshop, let alone one for FTL music. I have no idea what you are talking about

Wow! This is actually pretty cool! Do you plan on just adding FTL's base game music or expanding uppon it? I ask this because there is a mod/game overhaul called Multiverse for FTL, which adds... well... a TON of stuff to the game, its story, new races, weapons, ships, sectors, but most importantly... adds New Music too.

Many of which are really good as well.

@Zilloy currently they loop for around 18 min. this is pretty average time for a cosmoteer song and stops the FTL music from being repetitive. currently there are 8 cosmoteer "song packs" that loop and play, this mod only adds 1 "song pack" that contains the FTL music causing it to be a 1/9 chance to come across FTL music every 20-ish minutes. ill be adding more songs and a second pack to make the music appear more often in the future.

make the songs loop for longer possibly? ftl music comes up very rarely, lasts a little bit and then returns back to cosmoteer music
