Update:
- Support for RimWorld 1.6.
lakefishHAXX 13 Jul @ 12:24pm
Wasn't this one of the mods eaten up by the 1.6 update? If so, thank you for saving our colonies for all these runs!

The mod does not make the quest ask for a reasonable number, just not ask for more adults than you have
Narlindir 12 Sep, 2024 @ 12:23pm
same issue
they just requested 38 people
have 40 or so
2 kids and a lowmate
YYman 13 Aug, 2024 @ 11:13pm
i just tested it, i swear the shuttle CANNOT carry all of them back
cant handle the girth of my 6 warcaskets
by the way its was all for ***6*** honour
YYman 13 Aug, 2024 @ 11:02pm
damn i got a quest (VFER) to kill 6 deserters that asks for 20 pawns (i calculate i would need around 1-4) i have 24 pawns 2 being children.
so, i remember this mod exists, go to subscribe, only to find i already have it...
how...?
(the empire also will send 6 stellic guards)
what am i fighting, 6 superman clones?
anyways 2 of my pawns are highmates so 4 non combatants
maybe some code that allows you to launch the shuttle without loading it fully?

A mod could of course change the logic with which it selects the number, but this would basically need to be done separately for every single type of quest. All I have done so far is to fix a bug in one specific quest.

I may expand this mod in the future, but right now I have other projects I'm working on.
FiauraTheTankGirl 25 Apr, 2024 @ 10:56am
And I'm going to assume we can do nothing to limit them at all?
Kathanon  [author] 25 Apr, 2024 @ 10:37am
I'm afraid that those quests are designed to ask for up to your entire population.
FiauraTheTankGirl 25 Apr, 2024 @ 9:26am
Even with this mod, I'm still getting quests asking for space for 16 Court Allies or 10 Pawns to be gone for 7 days.
My current colony has 21 pawns (6 are children).
This seems insane that this is a quest that is expected for me to complete.

Updated for RimWorld 1.5.

Hello friend! I was wondering if you can also limit temporary "soldier pawns" that some quest give you?
LoopKat 9 Jan, 2024 @ 6:50pm
To clarify on that last point, VFE Settlers adds a quest type for raiding traveling caravans, but this is functionally different from quests requesting to borrow pawns

The VFE raid is similar to a loot complex in that you must send out your own caravan to attack a faction group while it's resting. Meanwhile, the quest that I mentioned required me to volunteer the specified number of pawns, a ship came to pick up them up, then they were flown to the designated map tile where they were unloaded and I had control over them while raiding the complex. Considering my lack of quest mods, I assume the latter is a vanilla or DLC quest
LoopKat 9 Jan, 2024 @ 6:35pm
@Kathanon Wasters are part of Biotech and the equipment rewards were from Royalty. The only quest mods that I have are this one, Better Ancient Complex Loot, and Vanilla Factions Expanded Settlers + Vikings. As far as I'm aware, those VFE mods only add new faction-specific quests rather than modifying vanilla quests, but I could be wrong
Kathanon  [author] 9 Jan, 2024 @ 1:35pm
Is that a modded quest? Those are hard for me to cover, since I'd need to individually do each mod.
LoopKat 9 Jan, 2024 @ 10:04am
I just got a quest to help stop Waster caravan raids, it requires sending 13 pawns to attack 4 Wasters, even though I only have 12 adult pawns, 1 baby, and 1 adult pawn who's only here temporarily from another quest. The rewards are A) Eltex skullcap (masterwork) + gold, B) Cataphract helm (masterwork), or C) faction goodwill

Does this fall under the relic quest exception that you mentioned in other comments or is the mod just not working for whatever reason? Either way, being able to set a maximum limit would be a very welcome addition to this mod because having to send literally your entire colony off on a mission is quite ridiculous
FiauraTheTankGirl 23 Jun, 2023 @ 5:33am
That would be appreciated, I get that the quests might ask for something stupid and it always seems that the really high tier ones end up asking for stuff that is completely unreasonable.
Kathanon  [author] 22 Jun, 2023 @ 9:41pm
Those quests are designed to ask for a random number of pawns, up to your entire adult population. I'm not saying that is a good design, just that fixing that was not the original intent of the mod.

I could add an option to limit it to some fraction of your population, but that is a bit more involved than just adding relic attack quests. It is not something I can whip up immediately, and I have other things I'm working on.

I'll add it to my to-do list.
FiauraTheTankGirl 22 Jun, 2023 @ 12:23am
At present I have 17 adults, 1 child. It just asked for 13 soldiers.
Which is making me go: A colony this large would collapse if suddenly 13 individuals were not present. And the enemy is only 10 cowboy bandits. So not only are they technologically inferior to me now, they also would be outnumbered. Which is just annoying because it makes the quest impossible and silly.
Kathanon  [author] 20 Jun, 2023 @ 2:16pm
@Fiaura
I looked into the code, and the quest where someone askes for a specific number of colonists to investigate an ancient complex already checks for pawns being adult.

Do you have less than 13 adults? Otherwise I think you were just unlucky. There is nothing preventing it from asking for *all* your adults.

The only thing this mod does for the other mission quests is prevent them from asking for *more* adults than you have.
FiauraTheTankGirl 19 Jun, 2023 @ 10:32pm
Can you add Relic Quests to this? I have this installed and running and it just asked for 13/16 colonies (1 of which is a literally 15 day old baby) to go on a quest for an ideology relic.
bonafide boofer 15 Jun, 2023 @ 10:19pm
OH thank god. I almost never do these quest due to the sheer number of bodies you need.
Kathanon  [author] 28 Mar, 2023 @ 10:01am
I see. I don't know of any such mod. You'll have to search. Sorry.
Renkij 28 Mar, 2023 @ 2:11am
Currently the quest gives a description of the threat, and asks for you to provide an army of certain size acording to your colony size.

I ask if there is a way to remove the minimum size requirement for that army entirely.

The quest would now read like this. There's a threat over yonder, an outpost defended by x people and y turrets. Send a party to clear the area, a shuttle will pick it up from your base.

Maybe if you fail you lose relationship points with the quest giver. but I had times when the shuttle could not carry back JUST my party.

Alternatively removing the shuttle's carry weight limit would also be nice.
Kathanon  [author] 25 Mar, 2023 @ 5:46pm
Could you elaborate on what you mean?
Renkij 25 Mar, 2023 @ 5:42pm
Is there a mod that removes the pawn requirements entirely?
IHateTheIRS 23 Mar, 2023 @ 8:10pm
disrespecc??? time to send 150 "soldiers"
Triel 8 Mar, 2023 @ 10:47am
