Does it support multiplayer?
Valaddar  [author] 8 Jun, 2023 @ 6:12am
@SlagNasty - This mod is no longer in development and this wouldn't be possible. A Council member can only be assigned to someone in the Ruler's Court. Since each independent child has their own Court, the parent could only be Regent to the child whose Court they are a part of.
SlagNasty 7 Jun, 2023 @ 1:58pm
Please make it possible for a parent to be regent for multiple "independent" child rulers if possible!

I'll be looking to see what features make sense with vanilla Regency mechanics.

Whatever I release will be a new mod so folks can still use this mod if they don't update
Rhaeven 12 May, 2023 @ 4:08pm
With regencies out in vanilla, it would be nice to have a standalone mod with only the "Ruler training."
yungfella85 27 Apr, 2023 @ 5:17pm
So guessing this is not compatible with Show Me Your Council
Valaddar  [author] 24 Apr, 2023 @ 9:30am
No. Both mods make changes to the Council screen.
Matthew 24 Apr, 2023 @ 9:20am
Would this be compatible with AGOT?
Valaddar  [author] 16 Apr, 2023 @ 7:10am
No worries! I'm hoping the CK3 Regency features are awesome!
junkyard emperor 16 Apr, 2023 @ 6:46am
Ah, I missed that. Sorry for bothering you
Valaddar  [author] 15 Apr, 2023 @ 1:52pm
From the description: "With Paradox's announcement today of their own Regency system, this mod will have one final update to add a Game Rule to turn the "bad vassal" option off. After that, this mod will be considered Feature Complete."
junkyard emperor 15 Apr, 2023 @ 7:17am
So, what will be this mod's fate now that ck3 will have regency mechanics in the base game?
Valaddar  [author] 27 Mar, 2023 @ 7:08pm
Join the discord and post a screenshot of your heir and your ruler. You can only train your heir if you have a trait they can learn.
LikeABith 27 Mar, 2023 @ 4:28pm
It's not letting me train my heir. I waited up until they came of age and it never gave me the option to train them
cuomo860 18 Mar, 2023 @ 9:50pm
@godstear. Let it run for a few in game days and the size of the save file decreases significantly.
godstear 18 Mar, 2023 @ 8:52pm
Actually, I am getting save bloat late game and it is resulting not being able to save as game save icon will just spin indefinitely. I am not sure if this mod is the culprit per say but it is generating thousands of errors in my error log.
cuomo860 14 Mar, 2023 @ 6:35pm
@Valaddar. It looks like the problem is really only at game start. I was using a base game and was going to use the unlimiter to edit some stuff and it said the file was too large. After a few months the save returns to normal size. It's likely just setting up all those regents at the beginning for the first few days. It's a pain but it's not a big deal.
Valaddar  [author] 14 Mar, 2023 @ 5:22pm
I'll look into it and see if I can limit it.
cuomo860 14 Mar, 2023 @ 4:56pm
@Valaddar I know you're probably not actively updating this for the time being but for reference later, it appears this is causing some serious save game bloat. Looking at the save file, it looks like regent.1000 may be creating a list of way too many characters for one of the pools. Possibly every_knight available being added to the list?
TheLoneWanderer 7 Mar, 2023 @ 8:26am
@Caddyshack - like the gopher, you may be wrong and this mod survives.
CaddyShack 6 Mar, 2023 @ 5:53pm
rip this mod
Valaddar  [author] 6 Mar, 2023 @ 11:11am
If the system is lacking, I'll look to integrate some of my features.
cuomo860 6 Mar, 2023 @ 10:22am
By how they described the Regency system (ever so briefly) I hope it covers more than just being out of town for tours and tournaments and covers the young ruler factor. I expect that much like the memory system we'll be modding adjustments to cover this stuff much like all the Cassis Belli additions that have been added over time.
rick54james 4 Mar, 2023 @ 9:00am
Only thing I'm not a fan of is the regency war...vassal had a positive opinion of me, wasn't even my regent at the start of the game and had none of the listed traits but suddenly gets to claim the entirety of France bc he's butthurt that I chose someone else to be my regent? Seems a bit excessive to me. Every other aspect of the mod is great but this is a deal-killer for me in it's current state
Valaddar  [author] 1 Mar, 2023 @ 4:57pm
Yes
obcorbino2146 1 Mar, 2023 @ 4:35pm
Would this work with elder kings, im just curious?
sorayacatfriend 28 Feb, 2023 @ 10:09am
Thanks! I really love this mod!
Valaddar  [author] 28 Feb, 2023 @ 7:18am
New Release:

Adds a Game Rule (ON by default) that turns off the decisions to train with your Regent or train your Heir.

This game rule turns the decision ON or OFF for everyone, including the AI.
TheLoneWanderer 26 Feb, 2023 @ 3:00pm
--- well the mod feels to me like it was made by a single unpaid person that does modding in their free time as a hobby. If I had any constructive feedback, I would certainly provide it in a positive and appreciative light so that I would not sound like I was entitled and as not to attack someone that is giving a lot to the CK3 community.
Catbus 25 Feb, 2023 @ 12:37pm
I did find myself wishing for my child rulers to have regents, but this mod feels one-quarter-finished. Misspelled words and other editing errors, variables not filled in, placeholder messages, extremely underdeveloped and repetitive heir training … it's not ready for prime time. Which is a shame, because what it's trying to do is worth doing. Might reinstall it in the future if it's polished up.
sorayacatfriend 25 Feb, 2023 @ 12:02pm
Hey, could you have a option that turns off the Ruler Training parts?
Valaddar  [author] 19 Feb, 2023 @ 11:21am
Good ideas. If you want to discuss in more details, join the Discord and post there.
cuomo860 19 Feb, 2023 @ 9:17am
The elderly/old ruler regent is actually a very intriguing prospect. I have a roughshod Senility mod that does a little to enhance the affects of aging so having something like that as an option would be cool. Doing age triggers for requiring a regent is easy, setting up a trigger or the effects of aging would be a bit more tricky but possible. Something along the lines of having specific traits and skills below a certain level.
N-TEA ☕ 19 Feb, 2023 @ 7:36am
Could you potentially allow major vassals to be regent, also could there be potential for a really old infirm/lunatic/mentally ill king to have a regent?
TheLoneWanderer 17 Feb, 2023 @ 8:01am
Anything that can make this game more challenging is welcome in my humble opinion... the longer that the game is played, the easier it gets to dominate the AI
jaimeravachi 17 Feb, 2023 @ 7:17am
I love the Idea but I don´t think that powerful vassal regents should get a pressed claim for the higher title, I mean at best should be an unpressed claim, why their heris should get a claim as well when they die?
Valaddar  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 1:49pm
@HaziTru - Thanks. Should be fixed now.
HaziTru 14 Feb, 2023 @ 11:44am
To clarify a event popped up - train me intrigue, or train me in education and they both were to boost intrigue when I think you meant for the train in education to boost learning.
Valaddar  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 11:00am
@TheLoneWander - all my mods are things I wish the game had. NPC heirs will develop and gain traits, but if you take over as a kid, you're character will mostly be bad if you aren't a genius. I hated that. (fixed it)
TheLoneWanderer 14 Feb, 2023 @ 9:51am
@Valaddar - LOL, I had to do a double check to be sure that you were responding to me.

My character companion is Dogmeat, not Tanto. The setting is the post-apocalypse wasteland not the American Old West. Instead of fighting outlaws, he fight super mutants. Lastly, forget the mask, its power armor. (Geek humor is so sad)
TheLoneWanderer 14 Feb, 2023 @ 7:17am
@Valaddar - thank you.

By the way, this mod is awesome. I became a ruler as a 1 yr old, and the mod really enhanced the gameplay
HaziTru 13 Feb, 2023 @ 11:11pm
When training a heir in education it's intrigue instead of learning
Valaddar  [author] 12 Feb, 2023 @ 4:49am
@TheLoneWanderer - Yep
TheLoneWanderer 11 Feb, 2023 @ 5:57pm
Sorry if this has been answered already! -is it save game compatible? thx
eoinraffs 9 Feb, 2023 @ 12:56am
Hi Vladdar, it was an incompatibility with another mod - removed other mod and all working great now thanks! Great mod :)
Valaddar  [author] 8 Feb, 2023 @ 8:08am
@eoinraffs - sorry, but I don't understand your question. Please post a screenshot on the discord
eoinraffs 8 Feb, 2023 @ 7:55am
Mod works fine, but a lot of the events/decision aspects have the raw data ie raw_data_insert - have you experienced any?
Nechtan 30 Jan, 2023 @ 5:32pm
Seems to be working now with just EK2 enabled, must have just been a hardware crash? I'll just start enable my mod order to find out what is crashing on game startup, that's all I needed:steamthumbsup:
Nechtan 30 Jan, 2023 @ 5:14pm
Huh well then I got no clue what may be causing a crash, I'll keep trying to see if I can recreate something more tangible
Valaddar  [author] 30 Jan, 2023 @ 5:12pm
LastofNechtan - I've played with both mods before, but something always could have changed.
