the one causing this was the mod
lightSensor
For anyone else who's experiencing this, see if this mod is on your list. I hope it helps.
@Player 1
That's the only one I know as of now
either you've never downloaded a mod before, which is why it's empty, or you haven't installed the game, or I dunno
steamapps - the steamapps folder
workshop - its workshop folder
content - content for workshops
108600 - Zomboid's assigned Steam ID
515555911 - the Morebuilds mod
i have two different steamapps\workshop\content and neither have 108600
i'm not sure what this means, and while i don't think it's because of any of my mods, if it was, maybe it's mod options (build 41) and/or mod manager: load order sorter? i'd like to use this with MoreBuilding, so if anyone can help i'd appreciate it
not sure if i'd need to provide more info for help, so just lmk
I recommend you guys use Better Tiles Picker to spawn the unthumpable steel fences or the long-standing metal constructions mod in the meantime
Seems the code is revamped for that one, explains the errors
I just finished some preliminary testing and it throws some errors
It does work but until I can make it function without the red box flags on the lower right, this is the method I found below.
1.) Navigate to steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2900870031\mods\IndestructibleMetalFences
2.) Make a folder named "common", don't put anything in it
3.) Make a folder named "42"
4.) Copy the "media" folder, mod.info, and poster.png
5.) Paste the files inside the 42 folder.
6.) boot zomboid, the Mod should show in Mods on 42 unstable
As this is a temporary fix, I haven't tested for Mod incompatibilities yet
I'll update it when I can, maybe when B42 becomes official and leaves beta
The MOD seem to work fine - Until you (Mouse) Klick with the Right button 1 Time on the Fence... then it seem to lose it's "Map Object State" and get attacked (and destroyed) by the Zombies. I have tryed this out now 3 Times... When Zomies are near the Fense, right cklick to the Fense and they start to attack it... You can tryout by your own.
as per mod description:
"The metal fences in this mod are invincible or indestructible because they are now recognized as "map" objects that are now immune to thumping. So they are technically not invincible or indestructible to fire, rain, rust, and nuclear missiles, only invincible to zombies per se because they are practically a barrier the zombies can only walk around."
You can attack and kill them through the fence/door btw.
On build 41.78.16 (without editing the config files)
that's outside my paygrade :))
hell I just pulled this code off a logwall mod I discovered somewhere.
If you can find a mod that does that for something else, send me a link and I'll study how they did it, reverse-engineer the whole thing like how China does it with Western Nike shoes, give me a week and presto you get your request.
Otherwise I have no reference and can't do anything
Could i request you make it so they will still break/take damage if too many ( >10) zombies are pushing against the fence like with the vanilla wooden picket fences? Hopefully the codes easy to copy paste/
I dislike repairing/rebuilding but still want there to be a good reason to keep the zombie numbers down.
I learned how to do this mod without tutorials of any kind
sometimes you just have to run it, see if it works, and if it doesn't, search up similar mods and see what they did
this mod probably even works in multiplayer, I just haven't tested
see if only the host needs it, or if both need it, again it's all just trial and error
@Gust
The mod should still be working
Remember to enable it in the mods tab for existing saves and to actually apply it,
which is what some people forget to do
If I recall it might work in multiplayer so long as the host and everyone else has it enabled
modding should help people mod to create more mods
happy to help since I also learned from someone else
Subscribe to the MoreBuilding mod
Then apply the fix in the description
yup
Then again if it does, you're basically just doing a switcheroo between world generated fence and player made fence. What exactly are you trying to achieve with it?
Does this mod work with Destroyable World Fences?
One question though, is it possible (and are you interested) in creating a mod that allows zombies to lean against the fences and gates but deal no damage? I feel like the same animation of zombies leaning on windows could be used for this purpose.
One of my favorite mods btw <3
