If I can figure it out I would love to do something similar with a race and make custom sprites I just have to get started somewhere just there isn't really any guide. I did ask on the discord though recently thanks for letting me know I'll see if I can get a guide somewhere I want to begin modding. If you have any hey this info helped me I'd appreciate it.

Or even better make Saltwater Saltwater crocodile men the Civ they are 7 times bigger then a dwarf.

With their sizes they are four times larger then dwarfs and are known to be strong this needs a full update.

Please Somebody fix this.

what you can do is ask in the dwarf fortress discord for help cus thats what i do when making this haha

Not sure why that would break the sprites for right handed creatures though, so I can't really tell what's going on.

I actually did just try taking a look. I think the problem is that creatures now carry a weapon/shield in either hand depending on handedness.

aw man honestly i have not look to the change in the files or the file of the dwarf fortress at all these past year

if you want to fix it yourself pelase do so freely it might just be need to change a few words in the script? idk what the file is called lol

Sadly the weapon sprites seem to no longer work after the recent update :(

and i think it should hatch if you forbit them from getting collected, it work like how you hatch more chicken and other egg laying creature

Do the eggs hatch? I've got about 100 but they haven't budged for a year

This mod has a conflict with "Trainable Animals Expanded". With both enabled; Alligator Men turn into basically animals incapable of work that are found in the pet tab rather than the citizen tab.

I just went into the dwarf fortress large temperate creatures file and removed the egg laying stuff from alligators, since I found it to be too much of a headache.

They seem to eat their own eggs, took the nest boxes I brought for beak dogs for their own use haha.

Just go into their creature raws and remove their [CARNIVORE] or [BONECARVING] tags and that should do it

all i did just make the graphic and use other mods to be able to play with them
im not much of a programmer maybe you can ask around in the discord or forum

By any chance do you think the raws can be edited to make them omnivorous?
