Hmm.. I'll have to give it another go.
Last time my dwarves ignored the linked stockpile in favour of wooden crafts. Perhaps I set it up wrong.

@DW420
The way to dictate what gets burned is through stockpile management.

Is there a way to dictate what gets burned?

Would there be an update for 50.10?

Below you writed an answer for Snowbirdo about a burning cage and a free prisoner/pet. Did you check this by now? I'd like to know that prisoner or pet is burning down if cage is burn. It's a nice source of fried meat or even a fun way to punish prisoners.

@snowbirdo - I haven't tried, but the expected behavior would be a cage burning and a prisoner/pet running free

can you burn wood cages with creatures inside?

FINALLY a reason to buy all the wooden elf-crap that the elves keep trying to sell me!

ok very nice. instead of trading away wooden garbage when replacing apartments for value increase, i can instead rely on the fact i could swap stone furniture for wood at any moment. very nice.

This mod, or a version of it at least, existed on one of the modding discussion pages for early versions of the game.
The purpose of this mod is to reclaim some value from wood material items of low quality.
The reaction does not respect quality & will accept masterworks!
Supplying your wood furnace from an appropriately configured stockpile is recommended.
Whether it's trashy elf gear or the byproducts of woodworker training, you can now throw it in the furnace and burn it up.
This is a good mod for beginning modders to edit too.
First time? Try changing the returns and reagents. It's probably the easiest first exercise.
