If you want to cut the head off then you need to pick up the body and have a sharp weapon like a knife right click the corpse in your inventory, cut off the head off the zombie, once you do that go to the detached head and clean all the meat off, (you'll see the option when you right click) finally use the "Book" item to enchant the skull.

Love the concept of the mod! The idea of expanding on the lines and even the potential of voicing the lines is definitely something to look forward to! I've been planning on getting into voiceover work myself and would definitely be interested in taking a shot at voicing Mortimus if and when you reach that point, so definitely keep me in mind Erin!
