otherwise feel free to contact me if you'd be opposed to it being integrated as I wouldnt have an issue with it
What should i do?
Female beetle went from near constant egg production to 0 after being trained for war
@all: please, dont go editing your "vanila" DF files :-) Not good idea .. especially when you already have existing fort.
I do not want subscribers to have to change their default RAW files. But, what i can do is create a custom chitin in my mod, similar to what i did with the beard. The default beard can only be attached to skin, in my mod i inserted a modified version of CHIN_WHISKERS_TEMPLATE to be attached to chitin. So i see no issue in doing the same for chitin in the next version.
Concerning version updates, I personally do not think Steam versioning works correctly for me. The version info is correct. When I update a mod, and go in game, it does not update, period, full stop. But, what I have found works for me is unsubscribing, and then immediately subscribing somehow forces the update in game. ymmv. But this might be because I am the author?
from first episode description (filename is of course valid for classic DF):
To enable chitin crafting:
- Dwarf Fortress\raw\objects and then select material_template_default.txt
- Go down to [MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:CHITIN_TEMPLATE]
- Add [BONE] to the bottom of the entry
Updates only effect new worlds that are created with the updated version.
I hope that you did not modify the saved world in any way, that has historically been a good way to corrupt your save data.
I will double check version 11 to see if i can spot anything.
Thank you, i wasn't happy with the initial art myself. I'm a programmer, and have not done any pixel art before this.
As for the longhorns, they are tough, and wild ones can dispatch many dwarfs.
The longhorns really can fight. I'v got my beetles pastured at the entrance to my fortress and they have gored quite a few invaders
also the male cannot it seems outfight 3 angry wild pigs... not even sure why they were fighting but eh, bacon is nice too
This is not a new/unknown issue with grazing egg layers (see also Elk Bird). I have amended the description to reflect care for breeding horned cave beetles.
