You will need something to select the frequency and something to calculate the distance and bearing between two gps points. You can have a look at the Navy Bronco from my WS if you wanna see an example (albeit a little more complicated than need be).

What exactly do I need to implement the TACAN into my aircraft, just something to choose the band wave?

It's navigational equipment so you can navigate without a map, this was mainly created as a dependency for my latest aircraft but I'll probably integrate this into future ones as well. Without it the Receiver on the Aircraft will be inoperable.

Well it imitates a simple nav beacon by using gps instead of radio triangulation to keep it more compact. If that is what you mean.

so basically this is GPS pre GPS?
