Thank you once again for this!
I'll push an update to the T2SwiD UWE patch in a little while to incorporate this fix. Thank you very much for informing me about this!
This mod only causes (non-brave) barmen to call his/her shop guards to respond to the caught person in disguise. Unless the everyone in the town became part of the Holy Bar's squad, that shouldn't happen. This is most likely an effect of multiple mods overhauling squads in Blister Hill (T2SwiD is not one of those) or Kenshi spaghetti code.
I'd say such swarming would be an effective deterrent to Narko's agents in disguise XD
This mod DOES NOT allow you to talk to police chiefs/bounty captains to purchase the freedom of jailed NPCs.
This mod could allow us that functionality through an easy tweak. However, doing so breaks a lot of vanilla AI stuff and dialogue-related stuff. That's why it is not in the scope of this mod.
T2SwiD UWE patch should be loaded after UWE and T2SwiD. If that is already the case, could you tell me which barkeepers are affected? May I also know what are the other mods loaded below this mod? There might be another mod loaded in your list that affects diplomatic status of barkeepers in a larger scale. Thank you.
I am using Reactive World and UWE, with the adequate patches.
Thanks in advance!
Regarding Hobbs (that spawned in Fishing Village, therefore member of Deadcat faction), you cannot recruit him using this mod. This mod only allows enemy shopkeepers to be talked with.
Regarding the constant screaming for help with even seeing through walls, that is indeed funny yet is not the intended behavior with this mod. One of the dialogue conditions for the shopkeepers to ask for help is to see the player in combat, with "see" meaning in talking distance. This is probably a mod conflict/faulty interaction with another mod. If you would please allow me to know your modlist so I can troubleshoot the issue further, I will really appreciate it. Thanks!
Something to add, it's easier to disguise if your character is not a notorious criminal. 10k bounty above makes you a notorious criminal recognizable by most shopkeepers.
Just announcing this in case some wonders about the file size. If anyone can explain the actual reason for the wrong file size displayed in the steam page, I would be obliged to hear it.
but seriously, I'm glad especially that you found it fun. I'm not spoiling much, but I found the interactions to shopkeepers while disguised as Holy Nation so fuuuun. Well, until you fail the disguise check and they try to kill you then ^^'
Fun: yes
works: Yes
should be in the game: yes
Easy to add to other mods: yes
yes/10
In the description of this mod:
"Please load this mod at the top of your economy mods. This is typically the later part of the whole mod list, after whole game overhaul mods and patches."
In simpler terms, this mod should be very close to the bottom of your mod list, if not at the most bottom. The only mods that should be loaded below this mod are economy mods (like shoppingecon, Pocket Change) and fixes (like Crab Tournament Fix, SCAR's pathfinding fix, etc.).
Why? It is because this mod has to give diplomatic status to all shopkeepers. This is a very minor change in the FCS that causes no issues in other mods. Please mind that this is the only change to NPCs this mod does in the FCS, most are dialogue additions.
also i didn't attacked the shopkeeper since it was a newly discovered city.. im gonna try that 1 min out of sight.
There are two potential, mutually exclusive reasons why talk to shopkeepers while in disguise won't work. One, the shopkeeper was in combat with you. You need to move away from the shopkeeper's line of sight for around a minute for the talk button to return. If you are near but unseen, you may even see the shopkeeper mumbling about your disappearance. Please note that for this case, even though the talk button returns, the shopkeeper may remember your aggression to him/her.
The other one, shopkeeper is not vanilla and is unique. This means I would need to make a patch to incorporate them. Some (new) shopkeepers in Universal Wasteland Expansion (like the Southern Hive) might also not be covered anymore as the compatibility patch is still Dec 2022, not covering UWE Feb 2023 and June 2023. I'll update it this holiday break.
Import would be needed though if shopkeepers in your game are already dead. ^_^'
However, I also incorporated a fix in case the case above (robotic limbs) is not your case. This should work with vanilla Holy Farm Leaders. Please tell me if there are still any problem after this. Thank you for the report!
And by the way, "compatibility" patches for this mod are more of for integration rather than to make it work . This means that if there is no compatibility patch for the overhaul mod, T2SwiD will still work for all the other shopkeepers except the unique ones added by the overhaul mod (they cannot be traded with as enemies even if you are in disguise)
I added the "stayed on Nexus" comment more because I do not see any copyright thingy here on workshop unlike in Nexus and I actually feared for my life a little because that guy's name and profile seems Russian... They might track me or whatever, and I'm not willing to die just because of some online altercation. Not being racist, but certain events changed my perception to them.
People here in Kenshi workshop is cool tho, and I hope I can still improve this mod (the promised hive shopkeepers update and compatibility patches with other overhaul mods to improve immersion). Thanks again~
Also, don't mind the guy who's being rude. Seems like he's trying to look for something new in the virtual world to do, like find an 'enemy'. He'll grow out of his phase
I'm sorry that your experience on the Kenshi Workshop was negative, I'm confident that you'll find other people and modders that are more friendly and respectful
