I did a NSC3 Patch for your Shipset!
Thank you for the awesome Mod!
I did also link your shipset <3
Have a great day!
thanks for pointing that out.
I updated the pages with the links and apparently copy/pasted the whole thing and not just the links.
"impressive" chhuuu
as far as designs go though, I just liked it a lot. and figured there are others out there like me who sometimes use corvettes with a heavy attack ship/swarm mentality. for that role, it just looks much cooler in a swarm than the other models available. but the cockpit window I do want to do something about. either breaking it out so it's instead a row of windows, giving it a slimmer bridge window and making the rest hull, or just removing it all together-- with the idea it's a similar design, but unique.
would also replace the single missiles on the undercarriage with something more like a multi-missile launcher.
but, that was the main reason. as far as cool attack ship, the existing scout model was just a bit underwhelming.
You could just (I know it's easy for me to say, much harder to do) change the hue of the purple on the corvette model to tell it and the secondary/picket hull apart if that's what you were trying to go for.
Granted, they also use a 'fighter type' model as their destroyer... I edited my own version of the shipset, so 'my' destoyer was a scaled down version of their light cruiser and removed their destroyer model entirely.
My only other suggestion is that the Colossus be a Primus battlecruiser with a mass driver attached to the ventral side. The upside is, it's the same model you already have, just with an elaborate 'rock-thrower' attached underneath.
Food for thought, anyway. Great shipset, look forward to seeing more B5 shipsets from you (and Lukav).
This is probably the last time I will use so many different models like this, though. mostly b/c I learned placing the locators for where weapons fire is frustrating. I'm thinking it might be better to limit vanilla designs to maybe one model, and then include a few more as new, unique ship classes.
for now though it's more... I enjoy making these, and I'm mostly making them b/c I wanted them myself.
the sentri, I might adjust the window just so it looks more like windows and feels a bit bigger. but, yeah I just really liked that one. that crescent moon shape makes for a nice attack ship. I could've used one of the models I used for destroyers instead, since there are 3 different ship models for destroyers, but I wanted to try and give this one a bit more diversity. not just one model for everything. there are pros and cons to doing that I learned, though.
To answer, I used the Sentri because I just rather like the look of it; and wanted a separate model for the corvette and frigate.
the starbase, colossus, and the large military base I do need to add, so on that one yes. starbase especially, only one diamond shaped base was ever shown and I already used that a few times. so just have to think about what the starbase would look like etc and prob make it from scratch.
ship sizes... I can check if the science ship is too large, but in general I Just make them vanilla size and then adjust things a bit until I'm happy with it. And, at least the construction ship I knew I was making a bit larger. Biut, B5 all the ships were massive.
Also, why the Science ships of both this and the Vorlon shipsets look so big in the empire cards?
